Earth Spot Meditation Take a seated or lying down position.
If you are seated,
Allow your shoulders to relax and lean slightly forward.
Place your hands either in your lap or gently over your knees.
If you are lying down,
Place your arms by your side with your palms facing up and just allow your body to settle in.
Let your eyes close gently or if you prefer them to be open,
Hold a soft gaze,
Focusing on an object or a point.
At the end of the meditation,
A bell will sound to close this mindfulness practice.
We are going to start with three deep breaths.
As you take a breath in,
Feel your lungs and belly fill up and as you release,
Release a long slow breath out.
Slowly enough that you can feel the sensation of the breath moving through your lungs,
Through your throat or through your nostrils and out.
So we will start with a breath.
Breathing in and gently exhaling out.
Breathing in and releasing a long slow breath out.
And last breath in.
Gently exhale with a long breath out.
Now allow your breath to resume its natural rhythm and flow.
As your breathing settles,
Sense your body slowly beginning to relax,
Feeling your muscles starting to ease and any stress that you may be carrying starting to melt away.
And if there is any areas of tension in your body,
Just visualise your breath as you breathe in,
Flowing around and through this tension.
Allow your body to slow down and relax with each breath,
Allowing that stress and tension to melt away.
And if any thoughts start to creep in,
Allow them to enter,
Acknowledge them and then allow them to pass.
Just like the clouds and the sky can pass through,
So too can your thoughts.
And I invite you now to bring to mind a place that you have either been to before or would dream up and a place that is one of absolute peace and tranquillity.
A place that you have been to where you've been able to relax and to find a sense of calm.
And just take in the colour and the beauty of this space.
Take in how this space is very calming and soothing and how peaceful it is.
There is no tension or stress or deadlines here.
You don't have to be anywhere but here in this present moment.
And in this beautiful calming space,
Just look around you.
There may be a spot that you feel very drawn to or you may already be standing or sitting in this space.
I invite you to just settle into this space.
As you reach it,
You can either remain standing or take a seated position.
And as you are in this space,
In this particular spot,
Allow yourself to feel connected to the earth.
Allow your feet or your bottom to feel connected to the energy of Mother Earth.
And to feel the healing energy of Mother Earth rising up and starting to flow through you.
Visualise a pure white light coming up from Mother Earth,
Flowing through your whole body,
Through your core being.
And just feel this energy.
Feel the love and compassion of this healing light flowing through you.
Feel this energy connecting to every cell in your body,
Energising those cells.
Just feel this coming through.
And if your mind starts to wander,
Just acknowledge the thought and bring your attention back to this space.
And I invite you now to look up to the sky and sense the energy of the Creator of all that is,
The Christ consciousness,
Buddha,
Whatever higher being you connect to.
Feel their pure white energy flowing down through you.
Feel this energy coming down through your crown,
Into your head,
Into your shoulders,
Down through your arms,
Through your body,
And down through your legs.
You are now connected to heaven and earth.
And feeling this energy healing your heart,
Feeling your cells,
Healing your muscles,
Healing your bones,
Energising you.
And any stress or tension that is just melting away from your body.
As your body relaxes,
Your mind calms and a feeling of peace washes over you.
You are protected.
You are loved.
You are loved.
And just feeling this beautiful energy,
Allowing it to flow through you in this very special space.
This is a place that allows you to be,
To just be.
It allows you space to quiet the mind and to relax.
And if those thoughts keep wanting to flood in,
Acknowledge them and let them go and bring yourself back to this space.
This space that allows you to heal.
And you can visit this place anytime,
Anytime that you are feeling stressed,
Feeling anxious,
You can visit this place to allow yourself to relax and to be grounded.
And I ask you now to slowly become aware of your surroundings,
Any noises that you may hear.
Feeling your body either in a chair or on the ground and just to wiggle your fingers and toes and to slowly come back into the room.
