Begin to close down the eyes or lower the gaze,
If you are sitting in a chair allow the feet to rest on the ground,
The legs begin to soften Lengthen through the spine from the sit bones to the crown of the head and allow the hands to rest on the thighs If you are lying allow the feet to rest out to the sides,
Allow the legs to become heavy And bring a gentle tuck into the chin,
Lengthening through the back of the neck Take a deep breath in Open the mouth and sigh it out Feel the whole body deflate And then take another deep breath in Feel the belly rise as the chest expands and draw the breath all the way up in the chest Slowly breathing out again,
Keep the breath smooth and steady and out Begin to imagine you are walking barefoot toward a rainforest The path ahead is a mixture of nourishing dirt and fallen leaves Slightly wet from the light rain that has been falling all day As you enter you notice an empty chest Take a moment to place all of your worries and concerns inside And then gently close the lid Continue to walk very slowly down the gentle slope Moving deeper into the rainforest Notice how your feet feel with every step Connect your whole foot with the earth beneath you There is no need to rush You have nowhere else to be in this moment You are safe in the forest with the light from the day guiding your path Listen to the sounds around you The sounds and the callings throughout the rainforest Feel a sense of calm wash over you Continue to breathe allowing your body to relax With every step and every breath The path begins to gently wind further down into the rainforest and You notice an array of different flora around you Moss grows on dead trees fallen long ago And there are all kinds of ferns big and small growing along the sides of the path Trees that extend all the way up to the sky You are protected under this canopy of trees As you look up you can hear the gentle sound of rain Dancing along the leaves Up ahead is a gorgeous rock pool and cascading waterfall You can hear the water rushing over the rocks and settling below You take a deep breath in Enjoying the fresh air You notice a perfect rock to sit on And you take this opportunity to dip your feet in the water below The water has an icy feel on entry But quickly your feet settle and the freshness helps you It clears your mind even further The water is crystal clear And the most perfect color of blue you have ever seen You stay with your rock pool for a little while longer Breathing in 3,
2,
1 Breathing out 3,
2,
1 Continue to breathe slowly in and out Noticing the gentle rise and fall of the chest Noticing the relaxed state of the body Noticing the sensations of air on the skin What else do you see in your rainforest?
What else can you hear?
Start to connect back into the awareness of the body You rise from your rock And you start making your way back Slowly heading up the path Feeling your feet connecting again with the earth on every step Continue to breathe in the fresh rainforest air And know that you can return to this place Anytime Notice the trees and the ferns and the moss Hear the rain Allow the sounds to cleanse your body and your soul As you reach the top of the path,
Continue past the chest You do not need what is in there anymore Take another deep breath in And fully exhale Breathe in again Open the mouth and sigh it out On your next exhalation,
Gently begin to open up the eyes And take this feeling with you throughout the rest of your day
