This guided breath and embodied practice will activate your parasympathetic nervous system signaling your brain to calm, relax and let go, and awaken your vital essence. It will give you the means to access your innate life force and aliveness when you are feeling anxious, disconnected and exhausted. Welcome to Shaking Practice.

We will begin with a quick breath practice,

Breathing with the earth.

Find a comfortable place to stand and root your feet into the earth,

Noticing the contact that your feet make with the ground.

The ground is holding you up and always does.

On your next inhale,

Imagine that you are pulling air from the earth up through each foot,

Up your legs,

Up into your lower belly,

Your upper belly,

Your chest and your heart,

Filling your lungs.

As you exhale,

Returning that air down through your legs,

Down through your feet and back into the earth.

Returning to the earth,

That which you don't need,

So the earth can compost it,

Alchemizing it and returning up back into your body.

What will nourish you?

For a few cycles of breath,

Breathe with the earth like this.

With your feet still planted firmly on the ground,

Begin to vibrate each leg.

You can gently bend and straighten each knee one by one,

Rotating,

Increasing rapidity between each leg's movements and introducing shake.

This should be as rapid as you possibly can shake your legs,

Moving that shake up your shins,

Up your quads,

Into your hips.

As you shake each leg,

Your whole body will follow.

You're shaking your hips,

Wagging them side to side,

Shaking your lower belly,

Your mid belly,

Your heart,

Your chest,

Your shoulders,

Drawing your arms in front of you,

Shaking your fingers,

Wrists,

Elbows,

Upper arms,

Back to your shoulders,

Shaking the entire body.

Now let your head go,

Shake your head.

Release your head.

You can also shake by bending and straightening your knees at the same time really quickly.

With your feet rooted into the earth,

And that will forcefully shake your whole body.

It can feel nice to introduce sound with this as the speed of the shake continues to build.

There's an expelling kind of internal exfoliation happening naturally with this vibrating and shaking.

And I'll leave it here for a few moments to be in your shape.

Sing outside.

Little spaces turn white.

There may be a part of your body that has gone silent,

Introduce shake into that part,

Awaken that part.

And shaking is an elemental and evolutionary part of being alive.

Feel that you're shaking is complete.

Gently come to stillness.

Inhale a deep breath through your nose.

Place your hands over your heart.

What is the residue,

The subtlety,

Alive in your body right now from that practice?

Did anything shift?

Did anything arise?

Or not is perfectly okay?

When you're ready,

You can take this subtle awareness,

This sensation of aliveness into your day or your evening.

Thank you for practicing with us.
