Take two minutes for yourself to de-stress and reset by getting into a comfortable position.
Sit up tall,
Your back and spine straight.
If you're in a chair,
Uncross your legs and put both feet flat on the floor,
And relax the small muscles in your neck.
Feel your head release tension and let your spine assume a resting state.
Lift your chin up,
Look out at the world,
Nod down at your feet,
And close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a deep breath,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling out of your mouth,
And again,
Inhale and exhale.
Notice the rhythm and cadence of your breath,
And begin to regulate your breathing evenly,
Evenly,
Slowing it down and finding a comfortable rhythm.
Feel relaxation make its way top to bottom as head and neck let go of tension,
Shoulders soften,
Your core releases,
And an effortless ease streams down through hips and legs,
Releasing stress and invoking restful repose,
Giving you a sense of tranquility.
Breathe rhythmically from this still center,
Knowing that it is always there for you to tap into when you need a moment of calm.
And as you bring your attention back to the place in which you sit,
Open your eyes or sharpen your gaze with a sense of renewal,
Ready to head back into your day feeling replenished,
Refreshed,
And restored.
