Hello and welcome.
I invite you to find a comfortable seated position,
Or perhaps you may want to lay down.
When you feel comfortable,
I invite you to close your eyes and take deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Breathing at your own natural pace,
Sinking deeper and deeper into this moment.
Notice how your breath feels today.
Is it quick?
Is it slow?
Is it deep?
Is it shallow?
Seeing if you can invite just a little bit more ease into your breath,
Relaxing your lungs,
Your diaphragm,
Your throat,
Letting the breath move through you.
Now,
You're standing in a field filled with tall grass and wildflowers.
You can feel the wind gently breezing.
You can hear the rustle of all the life around you.
In front of you,
There is a forest with a cedar chip path welcoming you to walk upon it.
The forest is dense,
But you have a deep knowing sense that you will be safe.
You walk toward the forest and as you take your first steps onto the cedar path,
You breathe in deeply and smell the aroma of pine needles,
Cedar wood,
And dew-covered moss.
You stand still,
Eyes closed,
And listen.
You hear the same breeze rustling now through the leaves of the trees.
You hear the occasional bird chirp.
You hear your heartbeat and your deep breath.
Notice what else you hear.
You take a deep breath in and feel the fresh air travel to every corner of your body,
Filling you with a feeling of lightness and gratitude.
You start walking down the path,
Pausing every so often to touch one of the moss-covered trees.
You place your palm against it,
Noticing how the bark feels.
Is it warm?
Cold?
Squishy?
Hard?
Noticing what it feels like to be touching nature.
Noticing what is.
You keep walking and keep breathing in and out.
As you turn a bend in the trail,
You hear the rushing sound of water.
As you keep walking,
A small but powerful river comes into your eye line.
There is a bridge across it.
Notice what the bridge looks like.
Is it wood?
Stone?
Is it old?
Is it new?
Do you perhaps recognize it?
Does it make you think of anything?
You approach the bridge and start to walk across.
Halfway across the bridge,
You stop to stare down at the water rushing below.
You can feel the spray of the mist against your face and the rumble of movement in your ears.
You breathe in the cold,
Refreshing air.
You keep walking along the trail,
Noticing any wildlife that reveals itself to you.
Any deer,
Birds,
Chipmunks.
You are completely present and completely at peace.
Breathe in that feeling of peace and presence.
As you round another corner,
You see a small trail of smoke.
You're not worried.
You can tell it's chimney smoke coming from a home.
You marvel at the idea of someone living here,
In this beautiful forest.
As you keep walking,
The home starts to reveal itself to you.
Notice what the home looks like.
Is it a stone house?
A log cabin?
A modern home?
A cottage?
Just noticing it in all of its detail.
This is where your future self lives.
You walk up to the door and you knock gently.
The door opens and you see your future self for the first time.
Notice what this version of you looks like.
How is their hair?
What are they wearing?
What is their mood when greeting you?
Do they have anything in their hands?
As you walk into their home,
Your home,
Look around.
What do you smell?
What do you see?
What art hangs on the walls?
Is the home cluttered?
Is it pristine?
Is it neutral?
Is it colorful?
What do you notice about the furniture?
Is it new?
Is it worn?
Your future self invites you to sit down.
They've been expecting you and they are prepared to answer your questions,
Of which you have many.
Ask your future self the first question that comes to you and listen to their answer.
Next,
Ask your future self what you need to do to get from where you are now to where they are.
Listen to their answer.
Your future self offers to share with you what they feel you need to hear right now in this moment.
What do they say?
Finally,
You ask your future self to share one word to help guide you.
Listen to that one word and remember it.
As you're getting ready to leave,
Your future self hands you a gift.
What is the gift?
Notice how it makes you feel.
Your time with your future self is now up.
As you get ready to leave,
You hug them,
Embrace them,
And say a deep thank you of gratitude.
You feel fulfilled with love and peace.
You leave the home of your future self and step back into the dense forest.
You look around and realize you're back in the field of wildflowers where you started your journey.
You take a deep breath of gratitude for this experience of being in the knowing of your future self.
And then when you're ready,
You open your eyes.
