Welcome back to another visualization.
As usual,
We are going to cozy on up,
Finding a seat on a cushion with your back upright or maybe lying down with a flat back,
Beginning to bring your attention to your breath,
Focusing on intentionally deepening your inhales and slowing down your exhales as much as is possible,
Pacing your breaths,
Making them perhaps the longest and most intentional breaths you have taken all day.
And now we bring your attention to a safe place in your mind.
As you continue breathing,
I want you to search back in the archives through the files of your mind,
Perhaps picking through memories to the safest place you have ever encountered.
Perhaps this is a place of familiarity or one that you're creating as we go.
Both are just lovely and continue to stay grounded in your breath all the while through the deepest inhales and the slowest exhales.
I invite you to consider what you're saying in your mind.
I invite you to consider what your safe place looks like,
What images come across,
Colors,
The landscapes,
What sites tell you that you're there.
Perhaps you are comforted by your solitude with loved ones or maybe your favorite furry creatures,
Continuing to inhale deeply and exhale as slowly as possible,
Even slower.
As you sink in,
Now bring your attention to your sense of touch.
What textures is your safe place comprised of?
How about temperature?
Is there a cozy blanket or maybe a hot drink?
Is your safe place soft,
Fluffy amongst the clouds?
Maybe it's in a hot spring.
Wherever it might be,
Continue taking it all in.
Here,
Plugged into your deep inhales and slow as ever exhales,
Bringing your attention now to your sense of smell.
What scents come up here in your safe place?
Perhaps the fragrance of jasmine is dancing through your nostrils or maybe you can smell a comfort food cooking nearby.
Just taking the time to notice and bask in it all as you consider what your safe place smells like.
And as you continue taking deep and slow cycles of breath,
We now bring our attention to what our safe place sounds like.
Are you comforted by the quiet here?
Perhaps there are kittens purring,
Birds singing love songs,
Maybe your favorite tunes are on.
And keep breathing,
Noticing the fresh air pouring in through your nostrils with new life force and anything that's ready to leave simply finding its way out on the exhales.
Now we bring our attention to taste.
Let's consider what your safe place tastes like.
Salty ocean air,
Maybe your favorite sushi,
Maybe that comfort food we talked about.
Simply noticing what tastes come up for you in your very own safe place.
As you continue staying rooted in your breath,
Taking a look around,
Taking in all the scents of your safe place,
Taking in all the sights,
Scents,
Sounds,
The textures and the tastes.
And take a handful more cycles of breath in your own time.
Getting ready to say,
See you later.
I'll be back.
All in good time to my very own safe place that is all mine.
Knowing that you can return here anytime you like for some clarity,
Some comfort,
A vacation for your mind.
Staying here longer if you like or starting to reorient yourself to the present moment.
Fluttering your eyes open,
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
And there you are.
Thank you.
