Namaste and welcome to In the Flow with Lori Albert.

So do you get scared ever moving forward in your life?

I know that I do.

I know that I do.

Oh my gosh.

It's almost like a self-sabotage.

Almost.

Like I will be in a place in my mind where I'm like,

Okay,

I'm gonna move forward and I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do that for my spiritual work and blah blah blah,

All of that stuff.

And then something will happen and I will just sort of start to back up and not do it,

Right?

And so I'm always of the mind of,

Come on,

Push yourself forward,

Right?

Because that's where I try to go.

But there's something about sitting at this comfortable place and not moving forward that is,

It's less scary than saying yes.

You know what I'm saying?

And interestingly,

That's kind of where I go a lot of the time.

I always tell you guys I'm gonna bring my life to this,

Right?

But that's where I'm kind of at right now.

I'm really tired of sitting in the complacency and sitting in the comfortable zone.

I want to move forward.

But how do you do that,

Right?

So one of my favorite spiritual teachers,

I like the teachers that keep it real kind of thing,

Right?

David G totally keeps it real,

Right?

Pema Shodron.

If you guys aren't familiar with Pema Shodron,

She is so unbelievable.

She is a Buddhist nun,

Right?

And she is like the type of person,

She totally keeps it real.

She is,

She's from New York and she's got this little bit of brash,

A little bit of humor,

And a lot of like heart,

You know?

Don't you guys know people like that?

I love people like that,

Right?

And so I love her books.

She's like,

She's like everything.

She's just everything that I need to like tell me to get out there and just move along,

Right?

So there's this quote and I wanted to read it to you guys.

This is from her book,

When Things Fall Apart,

Which is one of my more favorite books of hers.

I mean,

Again,

Can't say enough about her.

Anyway,

This is her quote,

To be fully alive,

Fully human,

And completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest.

To live fully is to be always in no man's land.

To experience each moment as completely new and fresh.

To live is to be willing to die over and over again.

And it's like,

Wow,

I mean,

To me that just hits me in the head because to be alive is to be willing to die over and over again.

Just like that particular line even gets me because it's that complacency.

Don't we want to move forward?

You know,

Especially in spiritual work,

Whenever you're like kind of helping people,

Don't you want to help more people?

Don't you want to do this,

Do that,

Whatever,

Right?

And starting fresh in every present moment,

It just like hits me between the eyes because that's where I want to be.

So today,

What I want us to meditate on is the place of moving forward and not being scared,

You know,

Not being scared to move forward and to experience something new.

You know,

I'm like famous for,

And you guys are gonna laugh because I'm live all the time,

Right?

On Inside Timer,

I'm like live all the time,

Right?

And I go to this place of I get really nervous about it.

I get,

You know,

I say no to like experiences and things,

Right?

But that's me playing it safe in my comfort zone.

And the message today,

Especially the message in the card reading that I just did for myself is like move forward.

Find the answers deep down.

They're there.

Your answers are there.

They're deep down.

Don't be complacent.

Step,

Throw yourself out of the nest.

That's the best part.

You know,

Throw yourself out of the nest and just move forward.

Allow yourself to move forward.

Isn't that amazing?

I find that to be so amazing that that I need to be told over and over again,

Don't get complacent.

Don't get comfortable.

Step out of that comfort zone.

Because that's where the living is.

That's where the living is.

That's where your life is.

When you step out of that comfort zone and move into something that you are unsure of.

Right?

That's where the fun is.

That's where the joy of life is.

So yeah.

So okay,

So let's get comfortable.

We're gonna meditate on this today.

We're gonna meditate on this because we are gonna start playing full out.

Right?

Don't you want to play full out with me?

Playing full out and stepping out of that comfort zone.

So we're gonna meditate on this.

Okay,

So everybody get your body relaxed.

Find your comfortable place in your chair.

Only in your chair.

Not in your life.

Gently allow your eyes to close.

Let's take a deep breath in and release it.

Beautiful.

There's nothing more fulfilling than working on yourself.

Stepping out of your comfort zone and moving forward into the excitement of whatever your future holds.

Nothing more exciting than that.

But we have to be willing to step outside that comfort zone.

So what are you grateful for today?

What is going great in your life?

What are you happy about?

What are you grateful for?

Are you grateful for just another day to be alive?

Or are you grateful for your coffee?

What is going great in your life?

So our mantra for today.

Our mantra for today is an affirmation and it's a very simple one.

I choose courage.

I choose courage to move beyond my comfort zone.

To go and to go deep within myself and feel that life.

The courage to throw myself out of the nest.

Right?

So our mantra.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

And as we say it to ourselves over and over again,

Pay attention to each word that you are saying.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

So let's begin.

I will keep the time.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

I choose courage.

Start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.

We can release the mantra.

Let's take a nice deep breath in and release it.

Beautiful.

Whenever you feel comfortable you can open your eyes.

So here's to having the courage to throw ourselves out of the nest today.

Right?

Pema would be so proud.

Let's throw ourselves out of the nest and out of that comfort zone with the courage that we have just meditated on and breathed in.

So it is now part of our being,

Our soul.

Right?

So thank you so much for joining today.

From my heart to yours,

Namaste.
