Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short,
Yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
Having the courage to let go of that which does not serve us is so beneficial and so important and that's what I want to talk about today.
Interestingly I had a spiritual teacher that I was totally into and I worked.
I did a lot of work under this guy,
Not under but I studied and didn't feel like it was serving me anymore.
I would feel not so great when I would have dealings and I didn't feel like it was in my greatest good to continue on with this person.
It's so interesting because I knew I needed to let go.
It was time.
Nobody is at fault.
I think that spirit has this way of telling us when it's time to move on.
I don't think it's necessarily anybody's fault per se,
But I think it's time sometimes to move on.
Let go of that which does not serve us.
I let go and it's so interesting because I think about throughout my life of other times when I've let go of certain things or whatever.
It's on the other side of it,
Even though it's difficult,
On the other side of it was like this blossoming of newness and something really fantastic happening.
Again coming to the conclusion that there's something or someone in your life that does not serve your highest and greatest good is freaking hard.
It's hard.
But like I say,
On the other side of it is the peace,
Is the bliss,
If you will.
We all get hurt by people.
And I know that I'm like the first one to say,
Yes,
I get hurt by people,
But guess what?
It's me that's doing the hurting.
These other people,
If someone hurts you and someone makes you feel bad about something or whatever,
It's you.
It's not them.
We talk about that all the time.
That's like a conclusion.
But I think that's our intuition.
If we get hurt by someone and we let it,
We allow it to hurt us,
I think that's our intuition,
Our gut telling us,
You know what?
Time to move on maybe a little better.
It's time to find something new to grab onto.
Interesting thought,
Right?
Very interesting.
Sometimes it's okay to just let go.
Sadly,
Sometimes it's people.
Sometimes it's things.
I know,
I know without a doubt that when I listen to the news,
I'm going to feel sad.
It's going to bring my vibration down.
I feel sad.
Inevitably.
I mean,
Really,
Is the news ever like 100% positive?
No,
It's not,
Right?
So turning that around and turning it off and maybe just somehow tuning into like,
Because I need to know what's going on.
I'm one of those weirdos that I like to know what's going on.
So maybe if I know what,
Like what I do is I allow myself to know what's going on,
But I turn it off when I start hearing about shootings and robberies and all of that kind of stuff.
The big stuff is what I need to know.
It's so true that if we have the courage to let go of this stuff,
Whether it's the news or whether it's like I say,
A person or even a spiritual teacher,
Even if it's somebody sort of big in your life,
It's okay to let it go.
And that feeling of,
Oh my gosh,
I'm feeling hurt is our gut telling us it's time to let go.
Our intuition,
We need to trust that.
I have my yellow candle lit today because of that,
You know,
Because our gut,
Our solar plexus tells us,
Tells us,
Right?
So that's what we are meditating on today because guess what?
When we choose ourselves for a change,
That's where joy is,
Choosing ourselves.
It's okay to do that.
You know,
I mean,
There's so many,
So many teachings out there,
So many,
So many spiritual teachers out there and so many different types of teaching that say,
Oh,
It should always be about the other person,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah.
But I personally think it's okay to listen to our gut and follow what we think is right for us.
It's okay to choose you for a change.
Now that's not to say that we always have to choose us.
It's not to say that we're going to bring the ego in and only choose us.
You know,
That's not to say that.
But it's okay to allow ourselves to have the courage to choose ourselves and what is the highest and greatest good for us.
So,
Okay,
That's what we're meditating on today.
Okay,
So see,
It's amazing.
Give me a cup of coffee and I'll just keep going.
Okay,
So let's get ourselves comfy.
Seated,
Cross leg,
Feet on the floor,
Whatever works for you.
Laying down and close your eyes whenever it feels right.
Perfect.
So let's start out by taking that deep breath in,
Holding it.
Okay,
What we're going to do is we're going to breathe in through our nose.
We're going to hold it just for to the count of like three and then we're going to,
We're going to let it go through our mouths making a noise.
I know that sounds crazy,
But we want to make a noise.
Okay,
So let's breathe in.
Slowly,
Slowly and hold it.
123 and release.
Ah,
That feels so good to do.
So so good.
So what brings you joy?
Let's think about all the things in our lives that bring us joy.
You know what brings me joy?
My coffee.
My,
My driving with the top down in my convertible brings me so much joy.
What brings you joy?
When I'm in one of my spiritual classes and someone gets it,
Oh my gosh,
That is like the heart of joy to me.
Absolute joy,
Joy,
Joy,
Joy.
What brings you joy?
Can have to do with you.
Can have to do with somebody else.
Perfect.
Whatever that looks like for you.
So today's mantra.
Today's mantra is today I choose me.
How is that?
So empowering.
So so empowering for yourself.
It's okay to choose yourself.
So our mantra is our affirmation.
Today I choose me.
Today I choose me.
Today I choose me.
Now if you get lost in that mantra,
Can always push the thoughts aside gently in your mind and come back to the mantra or focus on your breath.

And I kept thinking and you know obviously when we have when we do meditation you want to sort of clear your thoughts but I kept having that the thought going through my head let it go let it go from I don't even remember what that is from Frozen.
So I kept hearing it in my head let it go let it go and that's it for today right?
Let it go.
Let's let go.
Let's shed ourselves of those emotions and those feelings and those things and people just let it go.
Something that does not serve us.
So from my heart to yours.
