Welcome to the Spirit Rooms podcast,
In the Flow with Lori Albert,
Where we discuss tapping into our spiritual gifts,
Meditation,
And basically all aspects of spirituality.
Welcome in.
Hello,
And welcome in to the final day on our series on the chakras.
So I've been trying to keep this series interesting by discussing known,
Of course,
And potentially unknown aspects to each of the seven main chakras.
And today will be no exception.
Today is all about the crown chakra.
Woo!
You know,
It's so interesting and I'm hoping that you will relate to this,
But you know,
Depending on what's happening in my life or when I'm meditating,
Sometimes I feel led to focus on one chakra or the other.
I don't know.
Do you guys do that?
Obviously when that happens,
Though,
It's about the crown chakra.
And I'm not exactly sure why that is,
But maybe Spirit has a way of talking to me through that.
And what is really interesting about this is that when I focus on this particular chakra,
It feels like it's always about deepening my spiritual connection.
And it feels like Spirit wants me to pay closer attention to my own spirituality and listen more.
Very interesting,
Right?
So let me tell you a couple things about this crown chakra.
It is called also,
Aside from the crown chakra,
It's also called the Sahasrara.
And it sits just above the top of the head.
Now interestingly,
I always seem,
Me personally,
I always seem to see this chakra as pure,
Complete white.
But I do know that a lot of people describe it or see it themselves as either violet or gold even.
So I'm saying this because don't make yourself wrong if you see it one way or another.
I did that in the beginning.
I would make myself sort of wrong.
Like,
Why am I seeing it white and everybody else is talking about seeing gold or violet?
I made myself wrong and I thought,
Oh,
I'm focusing on this all wrong.
But it turns out that it's truly whatever resonates with you.
You know,
I mean,
It's so true.
And that's like the case of all spirituality I've come to learn over the many years,
Right?
It's about whatever resonates with you.
Okay?
This chakra is about enlightenment and it's about your own personal spirituality.
Okay?
So that's that.
Also,
This chakra is referred to as the thousand-pedaled lotus.
So I want to share something with you that I do,
And we're going to be doing this a little later in our meditation in just a few minutes.
And I'm not sure where I learned this.
But you know,
Because I don't really hear it,
I guess,
In meditations or that kind of stuff.
But when I am focusing on the crown chakra in meditation,
I love imagining the lotus flower opening up its countless petals as I focus on this chakra.
Isn't that incredible?
I feel like it allows me to invite in whatever spirit has for me.
And that's the beauty of this particular chakra.
I hope that makes sense to you because again,
That's what this chakra is all about.
Inviting in source energy.
Extraordinary,
Right?
Okay.
So now one of the main things about this chakra is as we are meditating and working on balancing it,
We focus on getting out of our own way.
Doesn't that sound pretty?
I don't know about you,
But I just need that.
And what I mean by saying this is taking the focus off of ourselves,
Off of our ego,
Our self,
And allowing spirit to come in and blend with us.
Seriously,
I really need more of that.
Okay.
So when this chakra is blocked,
However,
You might be feeling like restless or disheartened about your life or just a situation or even you might even feel just plain bored in your life.
But on the other side of that is this.
When this chakra is balanced,
You feel yourself focusing on the great things in your life.
The gratitude.
You feel joy and you feel,
You can actually feel your own spirituality.
I love that.
I love that.
Oh my gosh.
This is like,
You know,
I know I,
Again,
Yes,
I know I'm going to say it again.
I love that feeling.
That's like my favorite feeling and favorite chakra.
So okay.
Anyway,
A fantastic affirmation for this chakra.
Actually I have two that are my favorite.
Okay.
The first one is this,
And you can say yourself,
Say this to yourself several times a day,
Right?
The first one is this,
I honor the divine that resides within me.
Yeah,
That's really pretty powerful,
Don't you think?
And the second one is,
Which is even more,
More better.
I'm just going to say it that way,
Which is even better in a sense.
I am aligned perfectly with my higher self.
Yeah.
Pretty deep,
Pretty deep,
Right?
Okay.
So now the note associated with the crown chakra is B,
Which is that note.
And the mantra associated with this chakra is again,
Because it was also the third eye chakra is OM.
So you can just sit all day long if you'd like and sing OM in on the note of B.
How perfect is that?
Right?
So you can do,
There's so many things that you can do to get these chakras in balance,
You know,
And it's just takes a little bit of effort.
Okay.
Now one other little thing that focusing on this chakra always makes me realize and makes me think about is that famous quote that I've actually,
I heard it first when,
When Dyer said it,
But I believe that it's attributed to the French philosopher.
I'm going to botch this,
But Pierre,
Teilhard de Chardin.
I know I botched that and I apologize,
But here's the quote.
We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.
Now,
Doesn't that fit right in with this chakra?
I mean,
It's perfect,
Right?
So in balancing this chakra,
Focusing on our higher purpose in life and surrendering ourselves to what spirit has for us in our lives.
It's a beautiful way to bring this chakra to the forefront of ourselves in our lives.
How incredible,
Right?
And you know what?
And it's so cool that this would obviously,
I guess,
Be the final focus in our series on the chakras because it's about getting out of our own way and inviting in spirit.
How perfect is that?
Right?
Okay,
So we,
I can't wait for you guys to experience this meditation.
It is so,
It has the potential,
Let's just say,
To be very,
Very powerful.
Okay,
So let's get ourselves situated.
Okay,
Get yourself comfortable,
However that looks for you.
Okay.
Now,
For this meditation,
I'd like for you to place your hands on your lap,
Palms up.
Okay?
This in doing,
You know,
Keeping our palms up,
Facing up,
It allows the energy to flow in and out of your being more freely.
Okay?
So get yourself comfortable with your palms up.
For this meditation,
Let's keep our breathing steady and continual while inhaling slowly through our nose,
Very gently,
And exhale through our mouths.
Breathe in through your nose very gently and exhale through your mouth.
Now I'd like for you to place your attention on your crown chakra,
Just over the top of your head,
And notice a strikingly exquisite lotus flower.
Enjoying its beauty and magnificence,
Envision it as violet,
Gold,
And the purest white.
Okay?
Keeping your breathing steady,
Let's now envision this delicate lotus flower beginning to slowly,
Yet effortlessly,
Opening.
And as it's opening,
We sense white light source energy descending amid the light of the flower and down into our entire being,
Flowing gently through us,
Releasing our ego and generating clarity,
Strength,
And connection to spirit.
H And now as we sit in this space,
Sit in this stillness,
Feeling this beautiful source energy.
Let's repeat to ourselves the mantra,
Aum Aum Um.
.
.
Um.
.
.
Namaste.
