Hi and welcome to In the Flow with Lori Albert,
A podcast designed to teach us to manifest our best lives in every moment and every day.
Let's get in the flow.
Today I'm here with a friendly reminder.
A friendly neighborhood reminder.
Here's the reminder.
Live your life right now.
Right now.
You know with everything going on in the world,
Particularly Ukraine and all of that stuff,
I am become,
I have become very aware that life is what is happening right now.
Not what happened yesterday or five years ago or even next week to be honest,
Right?
Life is right now.
So do me a favor.
Wherever you are,
Wherever you are,
Look around you.
What do you see?
What do you see when you look around?
Do you see laundry piling up?
Do you see flowers growing outside?
Or maybe you see your dog sleeping in that crazy position that only dogs can get in.
Well cats too actually,
But what do you see?
What do you see?
You see a light flickering?
Do you see the clock changing time,
The digital clock changing time?
Okay so now,
Now I want you to breathe in through your nose.
What do you smell?
What do you smell?
Do you smell burnt coffee?
Do you smell shampoo?
Maybe leftover dinner or popcorn from last night?
What do you smell?
Alright,
Okay so next,
One more question.
What do you hear?
Do you hear the birds chirping outside?
Do you hear the plane going overhead?
Or the really noisy truck?
Or maybe your spouse snoring,
Right?
This is what your life is.
This is what your life is.
You know,
It's so interesting.
As an aside,
My husband snores,
As a lot of our spouses do.
In fact some of us even snore,
Right?
So he has for a while,
You know.
And sometimes it gets to me in the moment.
I'll be like,
I'll wake up and I'll be like,
Ugh.
But here's what you're going to laugh at.
In the middle of the night,
Sometimes I will like wake up and he'll be snoring.
And I'll be like,
Ugh.
My first thought is like,
Crap,
I need sleep.
Stop,
You know.
But then what starts to happen is,
And I started this a few months ago,
Is that my second thought is,
And this is kind of morbid,
But it's just where my head goes.
Someday he may not be here to annoy me with the snoring.
And somehow living in that particular present moment stops me from feeling bugged.
And it makes me appreciate right here,
Right now,
That my husband is laying next to me and I am so grateful for that.
And honestly,
It works to the point where I can go back to sleep.
Don't ask me why,
But it works.
I feel this full on appreciation for my husband and it works.
Right?
So here's the thing about all of this.
It's not about the mistakes that you've made in your life.
It's not about the money that you lack.
It's not about how someone made you feel inferior.
Everything we just experienced through our sight and our smell and our hearing,
That is what life is.
That is our life.
I love that.
Love that,
Right?
Then there's this quote by Wayne Dyer.
Oh my gosh.
Oh,
You guys know how much I love Wayne Dyer,
Right?
And there's this quote and here it is.
You'll seldom experience regret for anything that you've done.
It is what you haven't done that will torment you.
The message therefore is clear.
Do it,
Develop an appreciation for the present moment.
Seize every second of your life and savor it.
Value your present moments.
Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you've lost them forever.
I want to read that last line again because it's amazing,
Right?
Using them up,
Meaning the moments,
Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you've lost them forever.
Wow.
I mean,
Does that hit you between the eyes?
You know,
I don't know about you guys,
But for me,
I just,
I don't want to lose that present moment.
And that particular quote,
It like shocks me up into that look around,
You know,
Look around today.
What do you see?
You know,
And that's another good reminder to put on your phone.
This is what makes me,
This is what makes me laugh.
You know,
Put a reminder on your phone to like look around.
Can you imagine like somebody seeing your phone,
Look around?
Well,
For what?
For the present moment.
Appreciate what's going on.
I have a plant over here and I love that it's beautiful and it's blossoming.
That's what we have to do.
That's what we have to do.
Remember to stop and look around.
Even when you are at work at a job that you normally would let's,
I'm not going to use the H word,
But you dislike,
Let's say it that way,
Right?
Just look around,
Find something to appreciate in the present moment and that it loosens things up.
It makes you appreciate where you're at right here,
Right now.
Even in those crappy moments,
You're having an argument with someone.
Stop and look around,
Find something to appreciate it.
It lifts up your vibration.
Being worried about the past is not the way to go.
So we are going to meditate on this,
Right?
Let's just sit in the stillness for just a few minutes.
Okay.
All right.
Now let's get ourselves comfortable.
Whatever that looks like for you.
I know I say that every single day,
But I want you to remember that meditation is about feeling comfortable.
So take a deep breath.
Close your eyes.
Deep breath in through your nose and release.
Beautiful.
So our affirmation for right now and something that we can take with us all day long is this.
In this moment,
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
In this moment,
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
The key phrase in this moment,
Meaning right here,
Right now.
I am happy.
I am healthy.
And I have everything I need.
So let's just sit in the stillness for just a few minutes,
Repeating that to ourselves.
In this moment,
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
In this moment,
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
In this moment,
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
In this moment,
I am happy,
Healthy,
And have everything I need.
We can start bringing our awareness back to the chair we're sitting in.
Samprati hum.
Samprati hum means I am present.
Namaste.
