Hi,
I'm Lauren.
Thank you for joining me.
I hope you enjoy this pet meditation.
So tuning into the breath.
And feeling the entire body relaxing,
Softening,
Melting into the surface beneath you.
Inviting your pet to sit with you.
Dog or cat or other furry friend.
Getting comfortable.
In a position where you are able to have either both hands on your animal or at least just one.
You may want to pause this recording to settle into this position if needed.
Once you feel relaxed here and present in this very present moment.
Place either both hands or just one hand on your pet.
Not moving it yet.
Just placing it there.
Feeling the energy he or she gives off.
Allowing the unconditional love that your fur baby holds for you to travel through your hand,
Up your arm,
And into your heart.
And then from your heart,
Traveling out to every cell in your being.
Allowing yourself to be completely filled with love.
Your entire being.
I'm just sitting with this for a few moments.
And now beginning to move your hand or hands.
Petting your friend in slow,
Short movements.
Feeling his or her warm,
Soft fur.
And now creating longer strokes.
Does the fur's texture change as you move down your pet's body?
Does it stay the same?
Is it warmer in certain spots?
Continuing this for a few moments.
Being completely present with your pet and the love that you share.
And now switching from a flat palm to a hand movement where you curl your fingers in toward the palm.
Almost closing your hand.
Allowing the fur to move through your fingertips.
And paying attention to how this feels different from the flat palm.
How does the fur feel on the fingertips compared to the palm?
How does it feel on the insides of the fingers compared to the outside?
And now alternating between a flat hand and one where you curl your fingers into your palm to feel the fur in a different direction.
Delighting in this soothing,
Gentle exchange of energy.
And allowing your sense of touch to be most dominant.
Returning your hand to flat and moving it in a figure eight pattern so that on one breath your palm is petting your friend and on the next the back of your hand is.
So just rotating in that figure eight pattern.
Palm to back of hand.
Very softly.
And if it's possible now trying to reach for your pet's ear and gently caressing this area.
Making notice of how soft it is.
Feeling the ear in between the fingertips.
Maybe bending the ear a little bit softly.
Now moving to the underside of your pet.
And noticing here how much softer this fur is compared to the rest of his or her body.
Moving from chest down to belly.
Now moving back up to your friend's head,
Specifically the top of his or her head.
And moving your thumb back and forth with a relaxed open palm.
Slowly honing in on just the thumb and how it feels against the head and fur.
Trying to pet in any way that feels comfortable.
Which is your favorite place to pet your friend.
Picking your cheek if possible on your pet's head.
Sending him or her love and appreciation for this time together.
Staying in that state of appreciation for the unconditional love that he or she provides and gives to you every single moment that you are together.
And even when you are not.
Giving your pet a soft kiss.
Let's return to the breath.
Tuning back in,
Feeling rejuvenated by this loving exchange of energy.
Allowing the inhale to fill you with even more love.
And exhaling out love to your pet and all other beings.
A never ending cycle of love in and out.
Many blessings to you.
