Yoga Nidra for New Year's Goals This yoga nidra meditation is for bringing awareness to help activate your goals for the new year or anytime you want to achieve your goals.
Begin by finding a comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
Laying down comfortably either on your bed or on a yoga mat on the floor.
With a pillow under the head,
Get cozy with a blanket,
Pillows,
Whatever will make you comfortable.
Your arms by your side,
Making any adjustments to get comfortable with your shoulders tucked underneath you to support the heart.
Making any adjustments,
Wiggle the head side to side,
Arms,
Legs,
Hands,
Fingers,
Toes,
Wiggling to find a comfortable,
Sweet place.
Once you've found that comfortable place,
Say either in your mind or out loud,
I will not fall asleep in yoga nidra.
I will not fall asleep in yoga nidra.
I will not fall asleep in yoga nidra.
Now let's set our sankalpa,
Our inner resolve.
This is where you can think of your goals for the new year and when thinking of your goals,
Making that sankalpa,
And you'll repeat it three times in the mind.
For example,
All my goals are achieved in the new year.
All my goals are achieved in the new year.
All my goals are achieved in the new year.
Moving into the first kosha,
Anamaya kosha,
The food,
Physical body.
Without moving your body parts,
Bring awareness to them.
Start by bringing attention to your right thumb of your right hand.
Bring awareness to the right thumb of your right hand.
Your second finger.
Bring awareness to your third finger of your right hand.
The fourth finger of your right hand.
And the fifth finger of your right hand.
Now bring awareness to the palm of your right hand.
As you do that,
Imagine there's a small dime size of light in the palm of your hand.
If you can't imagine images,
See if you can feel a small amount of warmth in your palm.
The light or warmth is now growing bigger to the whole hand.
The whole hand.
The whole hand.
Now bring awareness to your left thumb of your left hand.
The second finger of your left hand.
The third finger of your left hand.
Fourth finger of your left hand.
And the fifth finger of your left hand.
Now bring awareness to the palm of your left hand.
Now that light or warmth is in the left palm.
And it expands.
Expands from your left hand going down the body to the big toe of your right foot.
Bring attention to the right big toe.
Second toe.
Your third toe.
Your fourth toe.
And the fifth toe.
Now bring awareness to the whole right foot.
The whole right foot.
The whole right foot.
Now that light and warmth is growing from the right foot to the left foot.
Bring awareness to the left big toe.
Second toe.
Third toe,
The left foot.
The fourth toe.
And the fifth toe of the left foot.
Bring awareness to the whole left foot.
Whole left foot.
Whole left foot.
Now that beautiful warm light energy is flowing from both feet,
Both hands,
Up the legs,
Up the front of the body,
The sides of the body and the back of the body.
The whole body is full of light and warmth.
Feel the light flow into the torso,
The head,
Arms and legs full of light and warmth.
Now bring attention to your stomach.
What comes up to you thinking of your stomach?
Your ribs.
Bring awareness to your heart.
Your low back.
Bring awareness to your kidneys.
Bring awareness to the backside of your body.
Bring awareness to the frontside of your body,
The sides of your body,
The whole body,
The whole body,
The whole body.
Whole body is full of comfortable light and warmth.
Moving to the second kosha,
Pranamaya kosha,
The life force energy layer found in your breath.
Feel your breath naturally.
Imagine observing yourself from outside your body.
How does it feel?
How does the breath feel so effortless flowing in?
Feel your breath as you breathe in through your nose.
But not only through your nose,
But imagine breathing through the pores in your whole body.
The breath is coming in and then it surrounds your body.
Your breath flowing in the pores in the nose,
All the way into the body and around the body like an invisible energy field.
Like the ozone layer of the earth protecting you,
Your breath surrounds you.
Feel on every inhale the breath energy expanding around you.
Now feel your breath heavy in your body.
Your breath so heavy in your body,
Like your body is in sand sinking deep into the earth,
Feeling your breath heavy in your body.
Now imagine your breath light,
Light like a feather.
Your breath is light as a feather and your body almost floating.
Now we enter Manamaya Kosha,
The mind-body.
Where we bring awareness to the mind using creative imagery and sensory awareness.
Feel your body is cold like you're outside in the freezing snow without a jacket.
Feeling the body cold.
Now feel your body hot,
Hot like you're on the beach and the sun is blazing down on your skin.
Feel hot on your skin.
Now feeling comfortable,
Not too cold,
Not too hot,
Just right.
Feel the body temperature just right.
Now think of a time when you were very angry.
What was the situation or person that made you angry and feel that anger now?
Going back to that situation and feel that anger now.
And as you feel that anger,
It starts to lessen.
It starts to fade.
Anger starts to fade.
Your feelings start to slowly fade and remind yourself that memory does not serve you anymore.
At one point it may have,
But now you are over it and that anger is gone now that we felt it.
Now think of a time when you were super happy and feel that.
When were you super happy?
Feeling awareness to that memory.
And as you think of that time when you were super happy,
It slowly starts to fade,
But you are left with this beautiful happy feeling.
We're now going to enter rapid visualization.
Just let the image come into mind without trying to attach to it as I draw in the imagery.
Just take in what you can before I turn to the next imagery.
Imagine.
Imagine a sunset.
Imagine a snowflake.
Imagine a puppy sleeping.
Imagine a kite in the sky.
Imagine a falling star.
Imagine a bike leaning on a shed.
Imagine a temple on a hill.
Imagine vacationing at your favorite place.
Imagine a hug by a loved one.
Imagine a forest full of trees.
Imagine horse galloping in a field.
Imagine a boat on the ocean at twilight.
Imagine tasting ice cream.
Imagine tons of money on a table.
Imagine being in your dream home.
Imagine the stars at night.
Imagine fireworks.
Imagine seeing the pyramids in Egypt.
Imagine walking in the desert.
Imagine swimming in a sea.
Imagine the sun radiating rays on your skin.
We now enter the Anamaya Kosha,
The layer of your intuition.
Imagine you're staring at your dream board.
It's an empty whiteboard.
It's New Year's and you want a fresh start.
So you envision filling this whiteboard up with pictures or inspirational words of your goals for this new year.
What do you want to achieve?
I will give you a few moments to think of all your goals that you want to achieve,
Your ideal life,
This new year and the years to come.
So take this time now.
Set your goals and envision your new year the way you would like to see it.
Take these moments these days to bring you joy.
As you envision your goals,
The picture is to start to appear on your whiteboard.
What do you see or what do you feel?
What do you see or what do you feel?
Start to see your goals shaping.
On your whiteboard filling up with all your goals.
Seeing your ideal life within these goals.
As you're seeing your goals envisioning your life,
Your ideal life.
On your whiteboard.
Seeing your goals.

How does it feel to achieve your goals and see your ideal life?
You enter the last layer and then the maya kosha,
The blissful body layer.
The blissful body,
We bring ourselves to that state where we feel our goals being accomplished.
Everything in your life that you've always wanted is now accomplished in this realm.
How do you feel now that you've accomplished your goals and bathed in those amazing feelings?
Because your mind can't tell the difference if you physically accomplished a goal or just thought it.
So now just be in these blissful feelings.
Feeling positive,
Accomplished and proud.
Feeling peaceful,
Blissful as all your goals have manifested.
How does it feel to achieve your goals and be accomplished in this realm?
Breathe into the accomplishments of your goals.
Feeling strong,
Proud,
Accomplished.
