Let yourself settle in whether you're lying down or seated.

This is a meditation for grounding your energy.

Let yourself settle in.

If you're seated,

Let your feet plant firmly on the floor.

If you're lying down,

Just get as comfortable as possible now.

Let your eyes softly close and begin to settle into your body.

Letting the tension melt away as you focus on your breath,

Noticing its natural rhythm,

The movement in your body as you breathe,

And setting the intention for this meditation to ground your energy,

To allow your energy to pull up from Mother Earth and allow you to feel her nurturing love and support.

Gently begin to bring your attention to the base of your spine,

Your sacrum just above your tailbone.

And imagine that with each breath,

You're stretching a root or roots from your sacrum down into the earth.

Feel your roots go through the surface of grass or cement,

Then further into the rich dark soil that blankets the planet.

As you continue to breathe,

Notice the sensations as your roots move into the earth.

Feeling the coolness of the soil as you go deeper.

Feel the darkness as you move away from air and light.

With each breath,

Allow your roots to go even deeper through fresh underground springs and deep water tables,

Feeling all of the different temperatures and sensations as you move deeper into the earth.

Soon you come to the earth's hard crust.

Here a space opens for you for your roots to reach through and toward the heart of the planet.

Notice any thoughts,

Sensations or images that come to you as you travel this inner journey.

No need to judge any of these thoughts,

Sensations or images.

Just observe them and let them pass.

Keep breathing as your roots move into the mantle,

The heart of Mother Earth.

You may begin to feel heat coming from the earth's outer core as you move toward the molten core.

Notice every sensation.

As you continue to breathe and continue on this inner journey,

Begin drawing this potent,

Powerful,

Nurturing energy from the earth's molten core,

From her heart,

From her center,

Pulling this energy up into your body at the base of your spine,

Drawing upon her love,

Her nurturing,

Her grounding energy,

Her love and her support.

Feel this energy spiraling up and into your red root chakra,

Center of earth connection and the body.
