This is a quick yet meaningful and fulfilling mindful exercise for those wishing to hone their abilities for acknowledgment. A "homecoming" exercise will allow the listener to access, safely the feelings associated with specific subjects of support and well-being.

Transcript

Just now,

You will be focused on the homecoming of your ancestors.

I'll be inviting you now to find a securing and comfortable posture for yourself.

That might be lying or sitting or even standing.

I'll invite you to now soften your gaze.

Or if it feels right,

Just close your eyes.

I'll invite you to take just a deep breath,

Expanding your lungs.

And at the top of that breath,

When you're ready to exhale,

Do so with a sigh.

As you feel that sigh release tension,

Allow the tension in your shoulders to also go with that exhale.

Allow the tension in your neck and throughout your face to just drip and fall away.

And now,

I'll invite you to begin by reflecting on those ancestors who have wanted the best for you.

Including wanting you to be happy and safe.

You don't need to know who these ancestors are.

All you have to do is contemplate that there have been those in your familial line who want you to be happy.

Invite those beings into your circle.

Also,

Reflect on the lineages you feel connected to.

Like the lineage of your spiritual tradition or tradition of art or activism.

Invite your lineage into the circle.

Your circle.

As you invite your ancestors,

Remember that you too are in the process of becoming an ancestor.

As you invite your lineage,

Remember that you are in this moment a lineage holder.

Say welcome to your ancestors and lineage.

Relax.

Inhale.

Exhale.

And come home to being held by your ancestors and lineages.

I am Kalfani now.

These homecomings are lovely and touching. My only complaint is that they all end quite abruptly which is startling.

Profound. I did not expect to feel that much power - like I was in the temple.
