Hi,
My name is Katarina and welcome to the Fire Element Meditation,
Part of the Four Elements series.
Find a comfortable and safe spot,
Whether you are seated in a chair,
On the ground,
Or laying on your back.
Find whatever position your body craves in the present moment.
Allow your eyelids to grow heavy and begin to roll your shoulders forward a few times and back,
Releasing any built up energy and tension you may have.
So often we carry the weight of our worries on our shoulders,
Allowing our problems to weigh us down,
Causing stress and making us feel burnt out.
So take a deep breath in and exhale out through your mouth.
Take another deep breath in and exhale out.
Now imagine a wood box in front of you.
Begin to place any stress,
Worries,
Or anxieties you may have into this box.
With each item,
Allow your body to relax a little bit more.
Place anything that has caused tension in your life into the box.
Once you've unpacked your troubles and worries,
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Take a deep breath in and audible exhale out.
Let it go.
With each breath you exhale out,
The box in front of you becomes smaller and smaller.
Take a deep breath in and watch as the box grows smaller.
All of the contents of the box become lighter.
The box becomes so small that it fits into the palm of your hand.
A wood-burning fireplace appears in front of you now.
You feel the soft glow start to warm your face.
Listen to the gentle crackle of the wood and watch as the flames dance together under the amber glow.
There is nowhere else you need to be right now except in front of this warm fire.
Now look down at your palm and see the little box with all of your stress and worries and with a gentle toss,
Throw the box into the fire.
Watch as the flames curl around it.
The glow of the fire grows a little more as you watch the contents of the box begin to melt among the flickering flames.
Allow the warmth to cover you in a warm hug.
Any tension in your muscles begins to release as the heat continues to warm your arms,
Chest and legs.
You are safe,
Protected by this fire.
Now become aware of the warmth in your body,
The fire mirroring the inner light that glows within you.
The fire continues to slowly burn,
The soft crackle as the box dissolves into a tiny pile of ashes.
You are bathed in warm calmness.
Allow yourself to stay here for a few more breaths.
Slowly start to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Bringing awareness back into your arms.
Take a deep breath in and audible exhale out.
Notice how you feel.
Are you more relaxed and at ease knowing that your troubles and worries have melted away?
Whenever you notice the stress and worries of the world start to collect,
Come back to this meditation and allow your troubles to melt away.
Thank you for meditating with me.
