Hello,
Dear friend.
Today,
We are here to meet our pain,
Not to fight it,
But to sit beside it,
To listen and to breathe.
Even in pain,
There is movement.
Even in stillness,
There is strength.
Pain,
Emotional or mental,
Can affect us in more ways than we often realize.
It can make us feel stuck,
Unmotivated,
Or wanting to stay in bed all day.
We begin to feel that pain is holding us back,
And maybe,
In some ways,
It is.
But there is a way to hold this pain and still carry on with living our lives,
To keep moving forward.
We might even find ourselves reducing some of our mental suffering in the process.
But first,
We need to stop resisting the pain and accept it.
Let's try doing this today.
Let's begin.
Take a comfortable seat,
Sitting upright or lying down,
Whatever feels right for you.
Now,
I invite you to close your eyes,
Gently,
Slowly.
Now,
Let's take three deep breaths.
Inhale.
Hold your breath.
And exhale.
Again.
Take a deep breath.
Hold on.
And exhale.
Let's do this one more time.
Take a deep breath.
Hold on.
And exhale.
Now,
Let's try to find the physical evidence of your pain.
Can you find a spot in your body where you feel tension or tightness?
Maybe it's in your chest,
Your stomach,
Your head,
Or someplace else entirely.
Wherever it is,
Focus on that spot.
Feel that pain.
Be with that pain.
If you cannot identify a specific spot,
That's okay too.
Maybe your pain is not physical,
Or maybe it runs so deep that it feels like it's everywhere in your body.
In that case,
Just try to feel the pain.
Even if you can't point it out physically,
Just acknowledge its presence.
Don't try to push it away or make it disappear.
Just notice it.
Let it be.
Become an observer of your pain.
Can you feel it softening,
Even slightly?
Maybe that part of your body relaxes just a little,
Or the mental stress begins to fade slowly.
No worries if not.
The goal is not to change anything,
Just to recognize the pain.
Now,
Let's thank the pain for showing you that something isn't quite right.
Or perhaps this pain is here because you are going through a transformation,
And the discomfort is a part of that change.
Say in your mind,
Thank you,
Pain,
For going through this period of change with me.
You served your purpose beautifully.
Say it again.
Thank you,
Pain,
For going through this period of change with me.
You served your purpose beautifully.
Did you feel your energy shift as you said that?
Now,
I invite you to simply sit with the pain for a little longer.
Don't try to force it away.
Don't try to force yourself to relax.
Just be with your pain and allow your time with it to unfold however it wants to.
Were you able to sit with your pain?
Did it soften a little?
Or did it intensify?
No matter what you felt,
You learned how to sit with your pain.
Maybe you realize that this pain isn't physically stopping you from living your life.
Or maybe it still feels like it is,
And that's okay too.
You can always return to this space whenever you need it.
Pain isn't always your enemy.
Sometimes you just need to let it exist and still live your life.
Don't let pain stop you when it could become the fuel to carry you forward.
Just like happiness,
Sadness and pain are all part of the human experience.
By not resisting pain,
You make your path easier.
When you accept it,
You save yourself the suffering that comes from fighting it.
I now invite you to slowly open your eyes.
Feel your hands and feet.
Let sensation return to your body.
Today,
We spent some meaningful time together.
We both expanded beyond our pain,
Beyond our suffering.
Pain is not a sign that you must stop or stay stuck.
It can be a message,
A signal that change is needed or that change is already happening.
Don't resist it.
Embrace it.
And now,
Dear friend,
As you return to this moment with open eyes and a softer heart,
Remember your pain does not define you and your presence is your power.
Carry the stillness with you.
You are already on your way.
