Hi,
Let's get ready.
Can you sit on the floor cross-legged or sit in a chair with both feet on the ground?
Or even lay down?
However you are,
Just make sure your back's nice and straight and that you feel fairly comfortable but you're not going to fall asleep,
Okay?
Do you remember that you have senses?
They're the sense of sight,
What you can look at,
Your sense of hearing,
Your sense of smell,
Taste and touch.
They're all these magical things about our body that allow us to live life really well and experience life.
So you might like to notice what you can see right now and how wonderful it is that you can see.
And if you feel okay to do so you could even close your eyes.
Can you notice now what you can hear?
Really listen and isn't that wonderful that you can hear?
And notice what you can smell.
There might not be very many smells or perfume or fragrance in the room and that's okay but you might remember those times when you smell really yummy food and isn't that awesome?
And even taste it.
Oh fantastic.
How good is it to taste something great?
That's amazing.
What about those times you've touched something that is so great,
Like something fluffy or silky that feels really nice on your skin?
Or getting into a bed with your warm doona.
That's great.
Can you notice your body now?
Your body's pretty cool.
It does so many great things for you every day.
Your heart beating,
Your tummy,
Your intestines,
Digesting food,
Helping you to be strong,
To have energy,
Your brain working so that you can learn and do all these things.
It's pretty amazing.
Can you let your body feel nice and comfortable and start to relax even?
Notice how it feels to breathe.
Oh isn't that good?
So glad we can breathe.
Breathing in nice fresh air and breathing out.
It's a wonderful feeling to breathe and relax.
What else are you grateful for?
You know,
What are the things that you feel are wonderful that you might feel really lucky to have in your life?
It might be that you love to have time to play with your friends,
To play sport.
It might be that you love that you can read,
Eat yummy food.
It might be other things like are you grateful for being able to learn,
Being able to love and receive love.
You know,
When someone says,
I love you,
So nice.
Are you grateful for a pet or a toy that you might have?
Anything.
There are so many things to be grateful for.
It feels so nice to be grateful,
To be thankful for something in our life.
And it would feel really different if we didn't have that in our life.
So it might make you smile to know that you've got that in your life.
You've got many things in your life that are wonderful.
It might make you feel happy.
What wonderful feelings to be grateful,
To be happy,
To smile.
Enjoy this feeling for a little while longer.
It's so lovely.
Well done.
How wonderful.
I'm grateful that you listened.
I'm grateful that maybe it made you smile.
You might remember this and stop and be grateful for something else in your life today.
Notice how your lovely body feels now,
Your amazing body.
Take a nice deep breath in and out.
It's great to breathe.
Wriggle around a bit,
Have a stretch.
And when you feel ready,
If you haven't already,
You can open your eyes.
Have a great day.
