Slow down your breathing and settle into a position that feels comfortable to you.
Continue to breathe slowly in and just as slowly.
Feel your breath moving down through your body,
Through your heart,
Down towards your legs.
Feel yourself beginning to settle.
You are here.
You are breathing.
You are safe.
Take yourself to a beautiful place.
It may be a place you've visited before,
Or it may be a place that you're seeing for the first time,
But know this is a special place,
A sacred place,
A place that is yours a place where you are safe to be exactly as you are a place where you will not be disturbed.
I invite you to settle in to the sacred space,
Noticing the air,
The light,
Feeling of safety.
Gently bring your awareness to the understanding that within you,
There is a much younger part,
A part of you that wants to move through the world with smaller hands,
A smaller body,
And a nervous system that did not yet feel secure.
There may have been moments when that younger part felt afraid,
Overwhelmed,
Or responsible for things no child should have carried.
And sometimes even now,
When you feel anxious,
Or pressured,
Or unsure,
It is that younger part quietly saying,
This feels like too much.
Today is not about reliving the past.
Today is about relationship,
Meeting that tender part of you,
And letting that part know that everything is okay.
Invite this younger part to join you in your sacred place.
Be curious as they join you.
Do they come easily,
Reluctantly,
Timidly?
Notice their posture.
Notice their age.
Feel their energy.
From the steadiness of who you are now as an adult,
Say to them silently,
I see you.
When they feel ready,
Invite them to sit beside you and gently let them know something very important.
The scary times are over.
You are not there anymore.
You are safe now.
Acknowledge how brave they were.
Thank you for managing what felt frightening.
You did the best that you could.
I am so proud of you.
Ask them softly,
What would you like me to know,
And then listen without judgment to whatever they have to say.
When they have finished sharing,
Make something very clear to them.
The grown-up responsibilities are all mine.
You no longer have to be responsible.
You do not have to be perfect.
You do not have to protect us.
I will handle anything that feels overwhelming.
If there were times you held yourself back and they felt unsafe because of it,
You might say to them,
Please forgive me for the times I let fear guide us.
I am ready now to keep you safe.
I am not going anywhere.
If you feel scared,
I will comfort you.
I will see you,
And I will notice.
Take a slow breath in,
And as you release it,
Allow your sacred place to soften.
Let it become lighter,
More playful,
As it reveals that part of itself meant for a child.
The light may brighten.
The colors may become richer.
This safe place welcomes joy.
Tell this younger part of you,
Your only job is to play,
To notice beauty,
To move for the pure pleasure of moving.
Watch them relax,
And notice what happens in your body as they do so.
If you are aware of any anxiety or fear that you have been holding in your body,
Acknowledge it gently.
That vigilance once held a purpose,
But it does not need to lead anymore.
Invite this younger part of you into your heart,
Inviting them to step into love.
Invite them to rest within your heart,
Where they feel held,
Protected,
And where their energy belongs.
If there are emotional energies that you feel ready to release,
Acknowledge them.
As you say to yourself,
They have served their purpose.
They are done.
There is no longer any need to create experiences that activate those energies in me.
Take a deep breath in as you imagine light entering through the top of your head.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine thousands of pinpricks of light moving through your heart,
Breaking apart any remaining heaviness that might be there.
Feel your younger self resting safely in your heart,
Bathed in that light,
Not silenced,
Not burdened,
Simply integrated,
Safe,
And very much loved.
You are here.
The scary things are over.
There is only more love.
Gently bring awareness back to your body,
Feeling yourself wherever you have been placed.
Take one more deep and cleansing breath and know this.
You are steady.
You are safe.
The past is over.
The future is yours.
And that younger part of you,
That younger part of you rests where they belong in love.
Whenever you are ready,
I invite you to come fully back into your body.
Take a moment to land and whenever you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
