Take a moment to find a comfortable position where you can be free from any distractions.
Take some time to adjust your clothing or blankets and then settle into your body.
Draw your awareness inward and begin to focus on the feeling of life force and vibration in the body.
Allow your breath to soften and relax.
Begin breathing deeply into your lower abdomen,
Lightly and gently inflating the abdomen on your inhales and deeply relaxing the abdomen on your exhales.
Begin to focus more and more on the feeling of relaxation in your body as you breathe.
Letting that relaxation deepen more and more with each exhale.
Concentrate for a moment on your exhalations.
Each time you exhale,
Feel the body sink down.
Body deeply relaxed,
Breath flowing in and out easily and smoothly.
Let your awareness rest on the waves of your breath,
Watching the rise and fall of your mind.
Observe as well the thoughts rising and falling in the mind.
Carefully observing your mind,
Watch the thoughts as they arise,
As if you were observing your mind for the first time.
Ask yourself the question,
What is my next thought going to be?
What is my next thought going to be?
And where in the mind will it arise when it comes?
Notice the feeling of expectancy deepening as you closely observe your mind for another few moments.
And now begin to invoke a feeling of being under the warm sun.
Feel its brightness and its warmth.
Feel a sense of nourishment and contentment as the light radiates down onto your body.
Imagine now that this sun is growing in brightness,
Until it becomes thousands of times brighter than the sun.
Imagine that it is also expanding in size until it is infinite.
Intend that this light is divine in nature and loving in its presence.
Imagine that this light is filling every space in your room,
As if every particle in your room is lit from within with this brilliant glowing light.
Feel the presence of this light enter your body.
Concentrate for a moment on feeling the presence of this divine light within every cell of your body.
Allow yourself to bathe in the nourishment of this divine light,
Being open to fully receive it.
Imagine this light is taking on a form that has deep spiritual meaning to you,
On a heart level,
Allowing your intuition and inner wisdom to guide you.
It may be a form of Christ,
Buddha,
An angel or beautiful mountainside,
Whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Take a moment to visualize this form glowing brighter and brighter,
Just like the sense of the sun coming out from behind the clouds.
Allow yourself to perceive this form of light with no past conditionings or influence,
Experiencing it with fresh eyes as if meeting it for the first time.
Visualize yourself stepping into this image as though you are being embraced by it,
Entering into a space where it is just you and this divine form,
No one else,
Nothing else,
Just you and the divine.
Continue to feel this inner connectedness to the divine light as we prepare to bring this meditation to a close.
Gradually allow your breath to deepen and your awareness to return to your body.
Keep your awareness anchored to the feeling of divine presence in your body.
Take a moment to open your eyes one tenth and softly gaze,
Staying in this relaxed state for a moment with the eyes open.
Continuing to feel this presence in your body and this state of inner relaxation,
Gradually begin moving your body and when you feel ready,
Come back to the room.
