A longer guided Non Sleep Deep Rest practice, also known as Yoga Nidra, for when you are under rested, overworked or need to recover after intense focus. Lying down, you are guided through a slow scan of the body that carries the brain from active beta waves toward the alpha and theta states at the threshold of sleep, while awareness stays present. Research on this style of practice shows reductions in cortisol and anxiety and increases in dopamine, and many people find it partially compensates for a short night. It is fine to fall asleep. Best used in the early afternoon or as a bridge out of the working day. The term NSDR was coined by Andrew Huberman.
