Offering Your True Face

Before your practice, it is always helpful and inspiring to take in a little reflection to help your intention or to give a lift on your journey. This short and lovingly open reflection and poem is a gift to you for simply being here today, in your practice, your actions, your beauty, your dignity and your life. I hope you enjoy these couple of minutes of connection before your meditation or yoga.

Hello there dear beautiful human,

It's John here.

I wanted just to take a moment with you before I share this little text with you.

I'm not sure whether it's a poem or whatever it is,

But it's just a little text that came to me the other night.

My heart has moved just to share it with you,

But I just wanted to say hello to you and hope that you were well.

And just thank you for your practice and for you shining your life and your light in the world by the journey that you're making through your meditation and your practice and your so on.

I wrote this little piece down the other night when I'm sure this has happened to you.

I was just thinking that I was meditating and the words were just there.

And it's very tempting sometimes to kind of jump up,

Run around and grab a pencil.

But I just said to myself,

If it's still there afterwards without trying to hold on to it in any way,

Then maybe there's something.

Offer you this little offering,

Which is actually called offering your true face.

Offer your heart to the world,

But don't tell anyone you are doing so.

Let the silence of your gift be the gift itself.

Let the silence in your heart show you your place in the family of life.

Nothing to say,

Though you may find yourself smiling in spite of what you've been told is the this and the that of the situation.

The silence of true love.

The smile that comes from the gift of the heart of silence.

Your true face.

John, how do you deal with disappointment? Especially when it’s from the same person? I want to show my true feelings/my face each time it happens, but I think it will only diminish me….make me look petty.

Perhaps, you could talk about disappointment sometime.

PS Thank you, John, I just watched the YouTube you referred to. It was helpful; it reminded me to give myself permission to feel the disappointment but not to stay there? My practice is strong and my life is full of joy. This little glitch reminded me of such.
