The Pattern Follows You Into Every Relationship
by Johanna Lynn
If you've left relationship after relationship only to find yourself standing in the exact same emotional room with a different person in it, try a different question than "why do I keep picking the wrong people?" Ask instead, where have I felt this feeling before? What looks like a relationship problem is very often something else entirely, a family pattern playing itself out on a new stage, tracing back to an abandonment, a loss never grieved, a love that came with conditions. We inherit more than eye color; we inherit unfinished business, and it finds a way to complete itself, often in our closest relationships. This is why changing the person so rarely changes the outcome: the way out isn't a perfect partner, it's gently tracing the thread back to where the pattern actually began. Once you can see it clearly, you stop repeating the story and start, finally, writing a new one. Please note that this content is educational and is not a substitute for professional care.
