Good morning,
This is Jody.
It's 6 a.
M.
Here in the Catskills in New York State and it's in the middle of July and my goodness what a stunning thunderstorm and rain,
Downpour,
A deluge of rain here in the Northeast this summer July and I know it's filled the lakes and the streams and the rivers.
We've been swimming in a lake up here in New York State and it is just like being a body of water ourselves,
Immersed in water.
So today in this early morning as the birds start to sing and life awakens in this forest that I'm sitting in,
I want to bring us into a meditation that lives in between the sounds that we hear in the forest.
And this is a meditation that one can do in the middle of a city,
During the concert,
Listening to music and the idea is to not differentiate the notes,
Not differentiate the particular sounds like is it a bird or is it a cricket or is it a frog,
Is it a traffic light,
Is it a siren,
Is it,
Are people speaking?
And if one can non differentiate and let sound come in to oneself,
Not just seemingly through the ears but as a vibrational quality through all of your entire body,
Without history and memory,
Without creating concretized identity of the sound,
Then one becomes a experience of vibrating,
Pulsating frequency everywhere.
And one's own body sort of merges and dissolves and one's own idea of separation between sound and experience of sound dissolves as well.
So we are going to practice this and then I want to inspire you to practice it throughout your day or during your day,
Especially in noisy places.
Please get comfortable in your seat and bring your awareness into your internal terrain,
Into that deep familiar place in your internal self.
I'd like for you just to take a lovely deep breath in and let it go.
Take a second breath in,
Let it go and begin to sit in a quality where your breath is calmed down and you're just internal.
And begin to listen with the idea of letting thoughts go by without getting lost in the story.
Just become the observer of your reality and as thoughts rise up,
Inspire a dissolution of them,
A letting go of history or memory of what those thoughts mean and begin simply to listen.
Feel as thoughts enter seemingly one side of you or the other,
One ear or the other and even let go of locality.

Experience yourself as a multiplicity of cells vibrating in a quality of frequency throughout your entire body as an observer without thought.
Melt back into thoughtlessness and listen with your entire body.
Be undifferentiated sound as a frequency vibrating from every direction,
Making up the movement of your cellular being.
Find it everywhere,
Sound comes from all over and can be experienced without distinction.
When you feel ready,
I'd like to begin to invite you to gently move out of your meditation by simply taking a slightly deeper breath,
Moving your fingers and your toes just a little bit.
Begin to feel into your physical body and when you feel ready,
At your own pace,
Just gently open your eyes and return.
This meditation,
This sound meditation for which you have been bathed in sound from every cell of your body can,
As I said,
Be done in the middle of the noise,
In the middle of the busiest street or concert.
And I want to invite you just to play with this experience.
Thank you.
This is Jody Weiss.
I so look forward to meditating with you again and have a beautiful and precious day.
