Hi,
My name is Jessica.
In this meditation,
We'll explore using sound as a way to invite the body to rest for sleeping.
Taking some time now to explore a position that feels supportive.
What is comfortable right now?
Remembering this may change throughout the meditation.
The body is always changing and processing.
So as we explore here,
Know that you can shift your position at any point.
Listening to the messages the body gives you.
What might be needed moment by moment?
And there's no need to rush.
As I understand it,
The meditation practice is not about getting somewhere else or getting to some other state of mind.
It's about fully experiencing what it's like to be right here.
In just a moment,
You'll hear the sound of singing.
Voices coming together to create sounds that will arise and fade.
The invitation is to explore sensations as the sounds come and go.
What's it like feeling sound along with hearing sound if that's accessible for you?
Perhaps you notice sensations in the feet as the sound arises.
Maybe in the heart space or the eyes.
Bringing kind attention to whatever you notice,
Using sound if you'd like,
As a place to anchor the attention right here.
So when you're ready,
Allowing the attention to rest on the whole body,
Knowing the body is fully present,
Knowing the body is breathing,
And perhaps offering yourself the permission to be here,
To rest,
To fall gently asleep.
