Jamaican spiritual teacher Mooji once said,
Surrender is not a weakness,
It is a strength.
It takes tremendous strength to surrender life to the supreme,
To the cosmic unfolding.
Today,
We surrender.
Find a comfortable position.
If you would like to experience more grounding,
Place your feet flat on the floor beneath you if you are sitting in a chair.
If you are lying down,
Spread your arms and legs out wide.
If you are sitting with legs crossed,
Perhaps find a wall to sit against.
There is no need to sit straight up if it is uncomfortable.
Simply be mindful not to slouch.
Throughout the course of this meditation,
Should you be distracted by thoughts or feelings,
Do not be discouraged.
Simply acknowledge them.
Bring your attention back to your breathing,
Or consider humming gently until you find your focus.
Now close your eyes.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
With every inhale,
Sense the clean air entering into and circulating your lungs and throughout your body.
With every exhale,
Allow your body to relax more and more.
Feel free to sigh your breaths out.
Breathe deeply and loudly.
Whatever feels good for you.
Through the practice of surrender,
We allow the universe to work its magic.
We say yes to infinite possibilities.
We trust that all things will work out in our favor.
And we give ourselves permission to let go of the outcome.
This can be liberating,
Intimidating,
Blissful,
And scary.
But in the end,
If we're true to our hearts,
Life unfolds in the most magnificent way.
With this breath,
Breathe in light.
And as you breathe out,
Surrender who you are and what you do.
In this breath,
Breathe in peace.
And as you breathe out,
Surrender into the hands of spirit this day and in the future.
In the hands of spirit this day and every day.
In this breath,
Breathe in love.
And as you breathe out,
Surrender all of your relationships,
All of your projects,
All of your fears.
In this breath,
Breathe in radiance.
And as you breathe out,
Surrender your dreams,
Your hopes,
And all decisions to be made.
In the words of Yogi Bhajan,
You surrender to a lot of things which are not worthy of you.
I wish you would surrender to your radiance,
Your integrity,
Your beautiful human grace.
This space will be available for 10 more minutes with music only for those who would like to stay longer.
When you are ready,
Take a final deep breath in and exhale with a sigh,
Releasing all that no longer serves you,
And open your eyes.
Thank you for being here.
