Thank you for tuning in to this meditation and for honoring the desire to awaken the light within you.

Find a comfortable position.

If you like to experience more grounding,

Place your feet flat on the floor beneath you if you're sitting in a chair.

If you're sitting with legs crossed,

Perhaps find a wall to lean against.

There's no need to sit straight up if it's uncomfortable,

Just be mindful not to slouch.

Now close your eyes,

Breathe in,

Breathe out,

Breathe in,

Breathe out,

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

The intention of this meditation is to find surrender.

The early roots of the word surrender suggest a definition of giving up or giving over an aspect of life and to give of oneself.

When considering giving up or giving over a situation,

This can mean cultivating the courage to give up or say goodbye to a relationship or a situation that is out of your control.

The definition of giving of oneself can lead to a much deeper understanding of what it means to surrender.

To give of oneself could mean to give up the ego self,

The part of us that identifies with external circumstances and conditions,

The impulsive tendency of giving meaning to life experiences.

To give of oneself can mean to give up the comfort of settling.

It is important to understand that surrendering is a sacred act aligned with the inner wisdom that you carry.

It is the acknowledgement that to every season there is an end and even in the most painful of times,

We can surrender to the moment,

Which means to detach from the details within it or the outcome and to open to the guidance that is available when peace and rest becomes your intention.

In this moment,

Surrender the illusion of comfort that comes with trying to control the uncontrollable or with knowing the complete path ahead.

Give up the judgments you may have placed on yourself and others and accept the highest thought of love in place of your own.

As you move further into this time of surrender,

Let your body settle deeper in its place,

Rooted like a tree in the earth.

Open yourself to the magic that is swirling around you in this very moment.

Its ancient and universal elements have existed long before you and will exist long after.

And in this space of alignment,

This magic is here to support you.

With deep breaths,

Consider the people and events you would like to give to spirit.

With every inhale,

Picture who or what.

With every exhale,

Say,

I lovingly release you to spirit.

Breathe in.

Consider the people and events you'd like to give to spirit and breathe out,

Saying,

I lovingly release you to spirit.

Again,

Breathe in.

Picture who or what,

Breathe out.

I lovingly release you to spirit.

Once again,

Breathe in.

Picture who or what,

And exhale,

I lovingly release you to spirit.

The wisdom in this practice of surrender lies in the willingness to release the control you think you have to a power much greater than your own and the willingness to say yes to freedom,

Mind,

Body,

And soul.

Take a few minutes to sit with these truths,

Breathing in a way that is comfortable for you and experiencing freedom throughout your entire being.

The great Sufi poet once said,

Be crumbled so wildflowers will come up where you are.

You have been stony for too many years,

Try something different,

Surrender.

Returning focus to your breath,

I'd like for you to whisper the following,

What is mine to do?

Without rationalizing or thinking,

Simply allow those five words to fall from your lips.

What is mine to do?

A great spiritual truth is that within every person exists infinite intelligence and universal wisdom.

When we hold on tightly to situations of the external world,

We block that guidance that exists within from rising to the surface.

What you can expect from the surrender you have embraced in this meditation and from asking that simple question is that an answer will be delivered to you,

Wrapped in love and in a way you understand.

I hope that you will mark this meditation and return to it anytime you're feeling the tensions and the confinement of external pressure.

I will leave the music on for another five minutes.

Feel free to stay and until next time,

Remember,

You are the light that you seek.

Thank you for being here.

Namaste.

Aho Matakoeyasin.
