Let's do this meditation on self-acceptance.
We're going to be focusing on celebrating our own uniqueness and letting go of comparison.
Begin by finding a comfortable position for your body where you will feel supported.
This may be laying down or seated.
Start by closing your eyes and taking a deep breath in and out through the nose,
Feeling the lungs fill with air and then feeling that gentle release,
Letting go of any tension or stress you may be carrying.
With each breath,
Allowing yourself to sink deeper into relaxation,
Inviting the body and the mind to feel at ease.
Begin to bring your attention to your heart center,
Imagining a soft warm light glowing in the center of your chest.
This light represents the essence of who you are,
Your unique gifts and qualities that make you who you are.
As you focus on this light,
Allow yourself to feel a sense of gratitude and appreciation for yourself.
Recognize that you are amazing,
Beautiful,
One-of-a-kind being.
There is no one else in this world quite like you and that is something to celebrate.
Imagine yourself standing in a beautiful garden surrounded by all kinds of flowers,
Each one different from the next.
Some are tall and elegant,
Others are short and delicate,
Some are brightly colored while others are more muted.
But each flower is beautiful in its own way,
Just as you are beautiful in your own way.
As you walk through this garden,
Take a moment to admire each flower,
To appreciate its unique qualities and characteristics.
Notice how each one stands tall and proud without comparison or judgment.
Each flower just knows that it's enough,
Just as it is.
Doesn't need to be anything else or need to be like anything else.
Turning attention back to yourself,
Imagine yourself standing tall and proud just like the flowers in this garden,
Knowing that you are unique just as you are.
You don't need to be anyone else or compare yourself to others.
You can just simply celebrate your own unique qualities,
Abilities,
Your quirkiness,
Celebrating your flaws that make you you.
Let go of any feelings of inadequacy or self-doubt.
And as you stand here,
Take a moment to say to yourself,
I am enough,
Just as I am.
Repeating this affirmation to yourself a few times,
Really allowing the words to sink in and filling you up with a sense of self-love and acceptance.
I am enough,
Just as I am.
Begin to imagine yourself surrounded by a circle of loved ones.
These are the people who know you best and love you just the way you are.
They see you for you in all your uniqueness and appreciate you for who you are.
Take a moment to really bask in the love and acceptance of these people and allow yourself to feel their support and encouragement as you embrace your own journey.
And as you visualize yourself here in this space surrounded by acceptance from others and yourself,
Take a moment to reflect on all the ways you are unique.
Instead of thinking about them as shortcomings or flaws or imperfections,
Begin to think about them as your own unique blueprint.
Thinking about the ways that they differentiate you,
Making you who you are.
Completely unique,
The same as anyone else.
And just thinking about how amazing that truly is.
Allowing yourself to really feel a sense of pride and joy in these qualities.
They're something that we need to accept and beyond that we need to celebrate.
The world doesn't need people who are all like one another,
That all look alike and act alike.
What the world needs is all of our uniqueness,
All of our magic,
All of us to just shine through exactly as we are.
Begin to imagine yourself walking through a beautiful forest,
Surrounded by trees of all shapes and sizes.
Some are tall and majestic,
Others are small and delicate.
Some are old,
Some are new.
Each tree is unique and beautiful in its own way.
Even those of the same variety look completely different.
And as you're walking throughout the forest,
Take a moment to appreciate the diversity of these trees.
Noticing how each one stands tall and proud,
Without comparing itself to any other tree.
Each tree just knows that it has its own unique place in the forest,
Part of the collective that it contributes to the environment,
To the world,
Just by being there,
Just by being itself.
And gently return your attention back to yourself.
Imagine yourself standing tall and proud,
Just like those trees in the forest,
Knowing that you are unique and beautiful and amazing,
Just as you are.
You don't need to compare yourself to anyone else or try to be anyone else.
And know that the spaces that don't accept us for who we are aren't made for us.
Give yourself permission to be who you are and find the spaces that are meant for you.
Feeling yourself filled with a sensation of self-acceptance,
Proud of who you are.
Gently begin to reawaken.
Let's take the sensation with us.
Let's take it with us as we head back into our day,
As we head back into our lives.
And remembering what the world needs most is you as you are.
