This visualization is for those days when you feel a heaviness in your heart. For those moments when you feel so overwhelmed, you forget how to put one foot in front of the other. Or just when you need to clear your head, or make space in your heart.

Come into a comfortable seated position.

Soften the muscles in your face.

Release your jaw.

Let your shoulder blades melt down your back.

Gently close your eyes.

Bring your awareness to any areas of tightness in your body.

Where are you feeling a weight?

Where are you feeling a grip?

And don't spend too much time in these areas.

Just notice them.

Acknowledge these feelings.

And take a deep breath in through your nose.

And a long exhale out of an open mouth.

And see yourself standing before a large wooden door set in a darkly colored wall.

The door looks massive and heavy.

You need to get to the other side of this door,

But it is resistant to your effort to open.

You have to lean your weight into it to pry it open enough to squeeze through into a large,

Dim room.

This room is cluttered with boxes of all sizes stacked up on each other.

There is little room to move.

It feels a bit difficult to breathe in here.

There are cobwebs in all the corners and dust floats in the air.

There are windows in this room,

But most are covered by the piles of boxes and a thick layer of dust and grime.

The atmosphere of this room feels heavy and stuffy.

There is a sense of loneliness here.

This place feels neglected,

Yet familiar.

As if you once spent time here in better days.

You take a moment to pause in this cramped space.

You draw in a small breath and attempt to center yourself.

It's so easy to feel overwhelmed,

To not know where to begin and just retreat and ignore.

But instead you take another step deeper into this cluttered room.

You grasp the first big box within reach.

You take a peek inside and see it is full of junk.

The box is full to the brink and heavy with items that maybe were once of value,

But no longer have any significance in your life.

You heave the box up and sling it back through the open door where it disappears into thin air.

You feel empowered by your actions and reach for another large box.

Once again you see that it is full of things that are no longer of value to you.

You toss the box out the door and watch it disappear.

You keep making your way through the stack of boxes,

Removing everything that no longer serves you in any capacity.

You notice some of these boxes have labels,

Self-doubt,

Negativity,

Worries.

One by one these boxes are lifted and chucked through the door.

Look closely at your boxes.

What labels do you see?

How heavy are they?

This is weight you no longer need to bear.

See these boxes disappearing through the doorway.

You don't know why you've held on to so much.

Why you pushed it all into shadowy corners,

Thinking you could just forget about it until everything began to pile up.

Spreading and taking up all the space.

Dimming the natural light and creating so much heaviness.

But now you are making progress.

The room is becoming more spacious.

You can feel the spaciousness in your body.

It feels as if you are able to breathe more deeply now.

The light is able to shine a bit brighter into your room.

The illuminating areas that have been kept in the shadows too long.

The energy is shifting.

You look up from your diligent work of clearing and notice you've created a path to another door set in the far side of the room.

This door looks brand new and welcoming.

You make your way to it,

Placing your hand on the shiny brass doorknob.

And the door easily swings open,

As if it has been waiting for your touch.

You are lit up from a brilliant golden light blazing on the other side.

You can feel the inviting warmth on your skin seeping into your bones.

Your body is tingling with a vibration that you haven't felt in quite a while.

You are drawn through the door into this place of golden light and vibration.

You feel weightless.

A feeling you haven't allowed yourself to experience in far too long.

You are peaceful and content.

In this golden awareness,

You are worry free.

All tension and anxiety has melted out of your body.

A weight has been lifted.

You turn to look back at the door you have come through and see that it too has disappeared.

Your room is now filled with this light,

Clear of all clutter and sparkling clean.

Merging as one with this place of pure love and serenity.

You sit down in the center of your room.

It feels so wonderful to breathe deeply and freely.

Let your breath move through your body.

You can rest easily here with a gentle smile on your face and warmth in your heart.

Let your breath move through your body.

Whenever you feel the weight of the world bogging you down.

Come back to your room.

Look at your boxes.

Read the labels.

And throw what you do not need out the door.

Let it disappear.

Make space.

Just let the light back in.
