I'd like to invite you to take a few minutes out of your day to sit with me and immerse yourself in the sounds and feelings of nature.
Focusing on your breath,
Making the breathing nice,
Deep,
And long if you can.
Bringing some fresh oxygen and energy to all the cells in your body.
Waking up your brain,
Relaxing all your muscles.
So just take a few minutes with me if you're comfortable to close your eyes.
You can be sitting either in a chair with both feet planted on the floor,
Sitting cross-legged on the floor,
Or even lying down.
And just begin by closing your eyes if you're comfortable with that.
Listening to the sounds of a fresh stream and imagining you're just sitting in the beautiful,
Warm sunshine in a clearing in a forest surrounded by pine trees,
Birch trees,
Elm trees.
Seeing the trees and the leaves swaying gently in the breeze,
Feeling that warm sunshine on your forehead and on your back.
Taking a nice,
Long,
Deep breath in through the nose,
Feeling it all the way until it fills up your belly.
And then taking a nice sigh out your mouth,
Letting all the tension go as much as possible.
Just relaxing,
Enjoying this moment to refresh yourself and your mind and your body.
Looking around and noticing how the trees are rooted firmly into the ground,
Imagining yourself being rooted firmly into the earth,
Held and protected by the earth,
And also flexible to sway with the breeze and to move and imagine that as a metaphor for your life,
That you're grounded and strong,
Yet flexible and able to move with whatever comes your way,
Flowing with the breeze,
Going with the flow of the river.
And just sitting here with me for another couple of minutes,
Enjoying that sunshine,
Smelling the pine all around you,
Maybe seeing a little animal pop up here or there,
A bird,
Hearing the bird songs.
Breathing nice and deep in through the nose and out through the mouth,
Or if you're congested,
Just breathing in through the mouth,
Whatever works for you.
Just trying to see if you can make that breath more and more relaxing,
Deeper,
Longer,
Slower,
Soothing your mind,
Body and brain and enjoying imagining the sun shining on your face.
Breathing in through the mouth,
Out through the mouth,
Out through the mouth,
Out through the mouth.
Inhaling,
Feeling the belly expand as the air comes into your body and exhaling,
Releasing the tension,
Releasing any pain,
Holding,
Struggle,
Just letting go for this moment.
And now maybe wiggling your fingers and your toes,
Moving your legs and your arms,
Preparing yourself to wake up,
Go back into normal reality.
Hopefully,
With some extra calm,
Groundedness and peace.
Thank you so much for doing this practice with me today.
I hope you enjoyed it.
