The intent of this session is to relax the mind by way of a visualization while at the same time bolstering your sense of curiosity and wonder.
You may wish to close your eyes or you may prefer to keep them open while maintaining a soft comfortable gaze.
Settle into a comfortable position.
You can be sitting,
Standing,
Or lying down.
As you're relaxing,
Notice the breath and let go of any thoughts you may have.
If you find your attention drifting,
Simply let go of the thought and bring your awareness back to the breath.
Let's take two deep breaths,
Breathing in all the way down into the abdomen.
Inhale,
And exhale.
And once more,
Breathe in deeply,
And release.
For just a moment,
Slowly scan your body with your awareness from head to toe and notice any tension.
Begin with the area around the eyes.
If you feel any tension,
Just relax the area and let it go.
Next,
Notice if there's any tension in the jaw,
Neck,
Or shoulder area.
If you notice any tension in those areas,
Simply release and relax.
Take a minute to continue scanning your body,
Releasing any tension or tightness.
And you can also keep a small part of your attention on the breath while you do this.

Continue breathing and scanning and releasing any tension,
Letting go of any thoughts and feeling your body becoming more and more relaxed.

Continue breathing at your normal rhythm in this relaxed state and focus on my voice as we begin the visualization.
Imagine you're visiting a friend who lives far away from your home.
Your friend resides on an old traditional farmhouse way out in the country.
The remote setting feels comfortable,
Welcoming,
And so very distant from your familiar everyday surroundings.
You spend the day exploring the grounds of the wide open and spacious farmland.
During your tour,
You notice a small grassy hill,
A perfect spot for stargazing,
As it's surrounded by flat plains in every direction for as far as the eye can see.
That evening,
After dinner and some friendly conversation,
Your friend,
Who has a few things to take care of,
Encourages you to take a peaceful stroll out to the stargazing lookout.
After stepping outside the farmhouse,
The first thing you notice is the absence of artificial light and sounds.
The chorus of crickets and the melody of night offer a comforting escort.
After taking a few steps to the top of the stargazing hill,
You find a resting spot.
Then you look up.
Your eyes widen.
Wow!
An infinite number of tiny points of light poke through darkness across the unending canvas of night.
Some are specks barely visible,
While others are brilliant diamonds suspended in the night sky.
The damp air and the cornucopia of twinkling stars fills you with a resounding sense of curiosity and wonder.
Your mind is wide open with wonder,
As words are far too static to fully describe the depth of your experience.
You revel in this marvelous feeling of being present,

Wonder,
And awe.
You delight in knowing that at any time you can return to this open and ever-present state of mind.
