Middle Realm - to connect with the Land or your Life Situation. The Middle Realm is both the reality in which we live and the spiritual parallel to it. We can access other parts and places of our ‘ordinary’ reality shamanically. We may do this to effect positive change in places that need that; to connect with the land, to investigate a situation in process – be ‘a fly on the wall’ so to speak. And we may access the magical spirit realm of the plants, creatures and minerals.

Welcome to your shamanic drum journey into the middle realm.

Be sure to have read the Guide to Journeying in the booklet before you start.

To begin with,

Cleanse yourself of any negative energy.

This can be done beforehand by smudging or right now with your will and intention by saying to yourself,

I cleanse myself of all negative energies.

I cleanse myself of all negative energies.

Now lie down or sit if you'd prefer,

Cover yourself for warmth and relax your body.

Melt into where you are.

Check your body for any held tension and let it go.

Now take your awareness to your breath.

Slow your breathing down and relax.

I will drum for you at a rapid rate.

Focus on the beating of the drum.

If you start thinking or getting distracted,

Just bring your focus back to the drumbeat.

Single pointed focus on the drumbeat.

For your journey into the middle realm,

You need to picture in your mind a place in nature that you love and be there.

Perhaps you'll be there with your power animal or any guides you have and then you will set forth on your journey.

Perhaps you are journeying to the middle realm to meet your inner shaman or to connect with the fairies or plant consciousness.

You can also connect with the land and ask how you can best serve.

Once on your journey when you have arrived into the middle realm,

You can call out for guidance.

Pay attention to everything you see,

Hear and feel.

You may encounter fairies,

Plant spirits,

Animals.

Everything you hear will bear a message for you.

Everything you see is a message for you.

Everything you feel is a message for you.

Ask questions.

Perhaps there is something specific you need to know at this time.

You will have the journey you need to have.

Perhaps you will even travel to other realms.

You may get your information visually,

With pictures or hearing sounds or voices or by feeling and probably a combination of all of these.

If you encounter anything on your journey that concerns you or you're not sure about,

Simply ask it,

Are you for my highest good?

If it is for your highest good,

It will stay there and you ask it some questions.

If it's not for your highest good,

Then it will disappear.

When the journey time is over and it's time to come back,

I will change the drumming from fast to slow.

At that point,

Say thank you and say goodbye and perhaps arrange another meeting and then retrace your steps,

Coming back the way you went in.

So pay attention.

Enjoy your journey.

And before I start the drumming,

State to yourself three times,

I am travelling to the middle realm.

Enter your place in nature now and listen to the drumbeat.

All the progress grandmother tell you is a good story that you end up with a great job 7,

12,

13,

14,

15,

16,

17.

Say thank you.

Say goodbye.

Retrace your steps.

Take a deep breath.

Wiggle your fingers.

Wiggle your toes.

Take another deep breath.

Open your eyes and slowly,

Slowly when you're ready,

Sit up.

Write down in your journal what you want to remember.

If you feel a bit unusual,

Have a drink and something to eat.

You can even go outside and lie belly down on the earth if you feel like you need grounding.
