Thank you for joining me.
This conversation I want to have this evening with you is really life changing and near and dear to my heart.
There's two topics here.
If you have chronic illness,
If you have chronic symptoms,
If you have chronic.
.
.
Mental,
Right?
Anxiety,
Depression.
One of the reasons,
One of the biggest reasons is there's an unmet need that your body doesn't know how to get met in a better way.
And I heard this for years and I would explore this for years and I would explore it from my brain,
But I needed it to be so anchored in because now I'm really going,
I get it.
I want to share it with you.
So when we're young,
If we do not have proper care in one way or another,
If something was passed down to our caregivers that was passed down to us out of innocence,
We are going to do whatever we can do to try to get that need met.
If we weren't loved,
If we weren't,
If we didn't feel enough,
If we weren't given proper boundaries,
Then we do something unconsciously.
We could call it a pattern,
A defense mechanism,
Trauma response to try to get the need met.
Okay.
So I highly recommend if you're experiencing anything habitual,
Struggle,
Block,
Especially physical symptom,
Which was my story that I'm sharing today,
Ask this question,
Is there a better way to get this need met?
So and this requires us to open our mind to,
Hey,
Maybe the physical thing I'm experiencing is my wise body is my subconscious mind trying to help me.
Get a need met,
I didn't get met.
Because that's real.
That's a thing.
Right.
And that was what was happening to me.
And so the question is can I get this need met in a higher way meaning in a better way that as an adult.
Maybe I don't need a stomachache to get out of a dinner party because I'm afraid of saying no.
So again,
Maybe you weren't accepted when you were younger saying no.
Know to things,
Having a boundary.
So you have an excuse.
You have a stomach ache.
But then the better way as an adult,
The higher way to get the need met would be.
Courage to use your voice,
Becoming friends with people that accept you and love you when you say yes,
When you say no.
These are all examples.
Having a conversation with your partner.
That dinner parties make you uncomfortable and you only want to go to one-on-one things.
Whatever it is,
Right?
Write that down.
That question will get you out of years of chronic things.
Here's my brief story around this.
I have had.
Variety of physical things for since I can remember,
Seven,
But I think even before that,
Because I was having earaches.
And as a sensitive soul,
As a lightworker,
As a creative soul,
As an intuitive soul,
You might have way different needs than the world can meet you with because you're living in a different dimension,
Right?
I came in with a certain pace and if you have a certain pace I love you and I'm sorry and I empathize with you because my pace is slower than the pace of the world.
And the amount I like to sleep when I feel done and overstimulated at a party.
And then from a wisdom place,
From a this is just your makeup place,
Right?
The amount of things I want to do in a day,
The amount of time I want to work,
My speed,
My pace,
How fast I want to talk,
Right,
Your beingness,
Your pace,
Your rhythm.
And growing up in a school system,
In a societal system that is very long hours and fast paced was really hard on someone like me who has a unique pace.
And I guarantee you have a unique pace.
Sometimes you want to do more,
Sometimes you want to do less,
But we're all kind of made to collectively go at some made up pace of the what's socially acceptable that you gotta hustle bustle go fit as much in as you can and then you're enough.
And it's hard because when you're like.
Whoa,
Man,
I have a different pace.
I've had to.
.
.
Grapple with everything that comes up once I slow down,
That says,
You're not enough,
You're being lazy,
You're making others uncomfortable,
You're being boring,
God,
All this stuff,
You're not being productive enough.
So what I realized today,
And this has been an unfolding,
And I've realized this,
It's just become more and more clear that.
I have tried to get the world to slow down around me through my body so many times,
So many ways.
Having mono in high school so that I didn't have to go to last period.
Being tired so that I could get people to slow down around me.
Take me being sick so that I could go to one of my grandmothers who lived at a slower pace.
Just to go,
Whoa,
That's so much for me how fast it goes.
Can someone just slow it down?
I grew up around very fast and that's not my nature.
So I'm sharing my story with you because it's not mystical.
It's not far out there.
Society will tell you,
Which is what we grow up in,
Body's broken,
Fix it.
But that is so far from what I learned.
Yes,
We need certain things to nurture us.
Yes,
We may be guided to certain physical acts and things and medicines.
I was.
But the body is not broken.
It's wise.
And it was doing something for me I didn't know to do for myself,
Which was love and honor my pace.
I didn't know until I was 42 years old to say,
There's nothing wrong with you.
This is beautiful.
This is in- an innate.
Rhythm child that you are a steward of.
That no wonder it hurts when you're going like a chicken with your head cut off and you're living in sympathetic and you're.
Trying to be like everyone else and you're exhausted.
It's like you look at yourself and you go,
I'm inadequate.
I can't live like everyone else can live.
Why do I need it?
A day when I'm traveling to recalibrate and everyone hits the ground running and it's like,
How are they doing that?
Great if that speed didn't eat to them.
But I was so afraid that the bottom would drop out.
I wouldn't survive.
I wouldn't be loved.
I wouldn't be enough.
And this is still a work in progress for me.
But I see it now.
And I have compassion and love and understanding and acceptance for my body.
That was.
Helping me meet a need of slowing down and living at my own pace when I had no idea how to articulate that.
When I was like,
Guys,
This is intense.
I can't hang where you're hanging and playing.
And so my job now,
And your job if you resonate,
My job now is to so fiercely be the parent for myself around people who are like,
Seize the day.
And again,
Nothing wrong with I'm creative.
I do things.
But I compare myself often to people who are big doers and get up right out of bed and cross fit.
I did a six minute core class and a 30 minute walk in the woods today with my dog.
But there is a,
What I'm learning,
This beautiful inner compass and it's custom tailored to you.
And what I've found is it's a silence inside and then there's.
And it's okay to sit in the silence and you can feel the mind when it's like,
You should do this.
You should do that.
You should do this.
You should do that.
You should do this.
And underneath that is a perfect.
A rhythm,
A perfect compass,
A perfect this.
It's like it says,
Go here or stop.
Red light,
Green lights,
Yellow lights.
And it's going to tell you your fear is going to say,
No vessel within me,
My true self,
My divine self,
That's gonna make everything go bye bye.
But what I'm inviting you into in my life experiment is what if that's where everything doesn't go bye bye.
That's where you have your needs met.
You feel alive.
Energy comes back.
When you so unapologetically go.
This is my pace.
These are my needs.
This is my limit.
You can feel it.
It has a different feeling than your brain.
And it's,
Yeah,
People might not understand you.
People might get.
Angry people might.
Be uncomfortable with that.
But your job is to love yourself back home,
To say,
I am enough,
And I am lovable,
And I am worthy and deserving.
To my own truth,
My own cloth,
My own makeup.
And if you're anything like me,
God bless our caretakers.
But that wasn't identified and stewarded within me.
I was like,
OK,
We're going to give you a break after school and we're going to.
Take you to a type of school that's shorter hours.
And we just didn't have that available to us.
But you can identify what's true to you and steward yourself back home in that because the world will reflect it.
You can be in that truth and that conviction and that honoring.
So this is two parts.
This is,
Hey,
If you're one that has a pace,
I get it.
I understand.
It's OK.
I'm doing it,
Too.
There's a way out.
You're not alone.
It's a gift.
You're slowing the world down by just being your own rhythm and showing the world there are people that can operate and still feel enough without having to fill their calendars a crazy amount.
And maybe that's not natural to you.
And that's fine,
Too.
You're just one that's like,
That's good.
Maybe some days I'm like that and some days I'm not and it's a moving thingy.
And for whatever chronic symptom,
Symptoms,
Whatever it is that you're experiencing,
You're not broken.
Yes,
It may need a treatment,
May not need a treatment.
But your body is so wise,
It's literally trying to help you.
There's an emotion you need to process.
There's a need that's not met.
There's a disconnection from your purpose.
It's wisdom.
It's information.
And the more you hang out in spaces like this,
You remember,
You see the truth and you realize,
Oh,
Wow,
I've never been broken.
My body loves me so much it was fighting for my own pace or whatever it is that you're working through in your life.
So the question for every symptom becomes,
And again,
This isn't the end all be all for all of it,
But one very big question.
Way out is,
I wonder if my body is trying to get a need met.
Through these symptoms.
And I can kind of loosen my mind around that a little bit.
And if that is my case,
Or maybe part of my case.
I wonder if there is a better way,
A higher way,
A gentler way that's totally safe and no big deal.
That I can handle at 42,
That I can handle at my age,
That's better than this.
And I'm just going to see if I can let that come into my conscious awareness.
And mine took years to come into my conscious awareness till I was ready to really,
I have healed enough to go,
Wow,
OK,
This is gnarly.
I can do this now.
I'm up against lots of people faster than me.
I'm even just thinking of other examples like my back had gone out to slow me down.
Like I had diagnosed with Lyme disease.
I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't move.
I couldn't walk.
Everything was going.
My body was just giving me permission to just stop.
Because the world was moving too fast.
But you can go and notice a new thing now.
And it seems scary,
But your world,
Like a butterfly effect around you,
Will reorchestrate itself around your new choice,
Okay?
