Hello and welcome to Meditation Time.
My name is James Whitaker.
Today we will be spending time reading scripture,
Praying and meditating on God's Word.
When we have tough decisions in life or simply need guidance,
The first place we should go is before God.
Let's start with prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for creating us with a unique path and purpose.
Give us the grace to accept your guidance for our lives when it's different from the plans that we already have.
May we accept where you lead us and give us a peace to follow you.
We know you have promised to lead us to good things and we praise you for it.
Thank you God.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
We need guidance but God already has a plan for our lives.
He knows what will happen to us and where we will go in our lives.
He promises to lead us that love him to good things.
In Jeremiah 29 11 it says,
For I know the plans I have for you,
Says the Lord.
They are plans for good and not for disaster,
To give you a future and a hope.
In Romans 8 28 it says,
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
In Job 8 7 it says,
And though you started with little,
You will end with much.
We ask for guidance but sometimes the door we were trying to open isn't the one meant for us.
We make our plans but he has a path and a purpose for us.
In Proverbs 19 21 it says,
You can make plans but the Lord's purposes will prevail.
We need to be open to his guidance even when it leads us somewhere different than where we plan to go.
Hold on to his promises to lead you to good things and not to harm.
In Proverbs 24 14 it says,
In the same way wisdom is sweet to your soul.
If you find it you will have a bright future and your hopes will not be cut short.
In Proverbs 1 5 it says,
Let the wise listen to these Proverbs and become even wiser.
Let those with understanding receive guidance.
As we move into a time of prayer and meditation let's do some breathing to slow things down.
In through your nose long and deep.
Out through your mouth long and slow.
In through your nose long and deep.
Out through your mouth long and slow.
Gently close your eyes.
In through your nose long and deep.
Out through your mouth long and slow.
In through your nose long and deep.
Out through your mouth long and slow.
Let your breathing return to its normal rhythm.
In Philippians 4 6 it says,
Do not be anxious or worried about anything but in everything every circumstance and situation.
By prayer and petition with thanksgiving continue to make your specific requests known to God.
Now we are going to spend some time in meditation and prayer.
Meditate on the scripture we read and spend time making specific prayers on the places you need guidance in your life.
If you find yourself distracted you can return to the breathing exercise.
Seek Him and you will find Him.
You you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you let's close in prayer dear God thank you for the time we were able to spend with you today thank you for any guidance received and may we have peace while following it give us the persistence to continue to pray specific prayers to you and wait on your answers in Jesus name amen keep God's promises firmly in your heart and continue to persistently pray specific prayers sometimes it takes time to get an answer don't be anxious or worried but instead trust in God and his promises I hope you have an amazing day god bless
