Cosa imparerai
In the modern world, creativity is often treated as a marathon of doing. But for legendary abstract artist Agnes Martin, the most profound art was born from non-doing. Martin’s life and art were deeply rooted in a philosophy of silence, stillness, trust, and faith—principles she used to explore abstract emotions like happiness, beauty, and innocence. This three-session course invites you to step into Martin’s desert mind. Whether you are a painter, writer, or someone looking to infuse your daily life with more presence, these sessions will help you move away from the ego’s desire to force results and toward a practice of receiving inspiration. What you will experience: Trusting the Process. Learn to "turn your back to the world" and clear the mental studio of expectations. The Geometry of Faith. Practice the one-minute silence challenge to navigate the creative void and wait for the inner whisper. Sitting in the Stillness. Discover "Quiet Intensity" and learn how to create art that acts as a meditative refuge.

Lezione 1
Trusting The Process
In this session we explore relinquishing control and the place of the ego mind through Agnes Martin's practices and creative trust. She believed the artist should be a vessel rather than a manager. This session focuses on the delicate grid she is so known for—and use it as a metaphor for the structure we provide so that inspiration has a place to land.
Lezione 2
The Geometry Of Faith
Having faith that a way will show up can be one of the most difficult practices. Yet Agnes Martin lived in the New Mexico desert, often waiting months for an inspiration to strike. This session tackles the "creative void"—the scary space between ideas. In this session, we discuss her theory 'With My Back to the World'—turning away from social noise to face the internal horizon.
Lezione 3
Sitting In The Stillness
The Art of Waiting for the Whisper is a gentle, humble practice. For Agnes Martin, it was everything. She didn't paint until she saw the image in her mind's eye, small as a postage stamp. This final session is about the quiet intensity of the finished work and the patience required to let it speak. We close by exploring how Agnes's paintings function as whispers. If we shout (with over-complication), we can’t hear the subtle truth of the work.
