Lezione 1
The Origins & The Backward Step
We begin by exploring the ancient roots and modern science behind "Shikantaza" (Just Sitting). Discover how dropping tension creates lasting focus, and learn why this object-less meditation is the purest form of practice.
Lezione 2
Releasing The Intellect
Constant intellectualization limits us to what is already known. Today, we learn the "backward step" of turning the light inward. We practice dropping judgments and mental exhaustion to reveal your original face. Includes our first short, guided sit.
Lezione 3
The Sacred Space & The Mountain Posture
How you set up your room is just as important as how you set up your mind. We cover the vital physical elements: adjusting your environment, aligning your posture from the cushion to the chin, and preparing the body for a deep 10-minute sit.
Lezione 4
Casting Aside Involvements
Prepare your mind for a fierce and dedicated practice. Today, we let go of "good and bad," abandon the desire for achievement, and learn to sit with absolute, uncompromising presence for 15 minutes without distractions.
Lezione 5
Beyond Discriminative Thinking
True realization cannot be understood by logic or intellect. Today, we learn that a profound practice does not depend on having a sharp or dull mind. We practice concentrating our efforts single-mindedly and dropping the need to measure our progress.
Lezione 6
Sitting With All Your Heart
There is no need to search the outside world for what you already possess. We engage in total, immobile sitting, anchoring ourselves like a majestic mountain. We commit fully to the universal will of simply being here.
Lezione 7
Realization Is Sitting
The final summit of the foundation. We honor the rare and fleeting opportunity of human life. With no techniques left to apply, we peel back the final layers. We do not sit to achieve realization; we sit in realization.
