Lezione 1
Beginning With Mindfulness
In this session we explore the importance of acceptance, and see how our resistance to tinnitus is more painful than the tinnitus itself. We'll begin to explore the technique of "soft eyes," which helps us to have a calmer and more accepting mind.
Lezione 2
Going Deeper Into Soft Eyes
In this session we'll spend more time exploring the practice and the significance of the practice of soft eyes. We'll see how it promotes the parasympathetic nervous system, which brings us back to calm, rest, and balance. We'll see how soft eyes helps not just to calm the mind but to connect us with the body, so that we have a more spacious experience in which our tinnitus can exist without disturbing us.
Lezione 3
Meeting Everything With Kindness
Tinnitus can give rise to a lot of inner conflict. We can hate our tinnitus and blame ourselves. In today's session we'll explore how to bring more kindness, patience, and acceptance into our experience through a simple practice called "kind eyes."
Lezione 4
Supporting Ourselves Compassionately
No matter how much we practice acceptance, there are bound to be times when we suffer because of our tinnitus. If we're not careful this can trigger a downward spiral into anxiety or depression. To avoid this happening, we can learn to practice self-compassion, so that we can offer ourselves kindness, support, and encouragement as we go through difficulties.
Lezione 5
The Music Of The Brain
As we learn to be more accepting of our tinnitus, we often tune it out, barely noticing its there. But it's important not to try to get rid of it out of aversion. Therefore, in this session we'll turn our attention toward the sounds of the tinnitus, using it as an object of mindfulness.
Lezione 6
There's More Going Right Than Wrong
Our minds have a "negativity bias," tending to focus on what's going wrong (such as having tinnitus) and tuning out the many things that are going right. In this session we'll see how we can consciously turn the mind toward what's going right so that we can live with gratitude and appreciation.
