How To Actually Like Yourself: A Practical Toolkit

Cosa imparerai
Most of us were never taught how to genuinely like ourselves. We live with inner critics, impossible expectations, and a habit of putting ourselves last. This course is a gentle, no-pressure guide to shifting that. Across these short, practical lessons, you’ll explore simple self-kindness tools you can weave into everyday life - from collecting compliments to eating one present, mindful meal. You’ll learn how to speak to yourself like a friend, let go of pointless apologies, and gather proof of the brave things you’ve already done. This isn’t about perfection or pretending you’re okay when you’re not. It’s about building small, steady acts of care and connection with yourself, one day at a time. By the end of this course, you’ll have a toolkit of practical ways to feel more grounded, kind, and at home in your own skin.

Lezione 1
Introduction Day
Welcome to your self-kindness toolkit. This course is about practical, doable ways to like yourself a little more. No perfection required, just real, everyday tools you can return to whenever you need.
Lezione 2
The Getting To Know Yourself List
In todays episode we focus on getting curious about who you really are. Think of it as dating yourself, learning your little quirks, the odd things you love, and what makes you laugh. Know yourself kindly.
Lezione 3
One Present Meal
In this practice, you will sit with one meal in complete presence. No phone, no book, no background TV or conversation. Just you and your food, noticing each texture, colour, taste and sensation fully.
Lezione 4
Me By My Side
Meet the version of you who is always kind, supportive and on your side. This visualisation exercise invites you to imagine this version of yourself walking beside you through daily life, offering care.
Lezione 5
Thanking Items
Today you’ll shift how you relate to the everyday objects around you. From your car to your kettle, everything quietly supports your life. By thanking these things, you’ll practice presence and gratitude.
Lezione 6
The Compliment Bank
Kind words are easily forgotten. Today, you’ll start collecting every compliment you receive, no matter how small. And you're going to start ACCEPTING them too. Over time you’ll build a personal bank of positive words to return to on hard days.
Lezione 7
No More Apologising Day
Notice how often you apologise for existing, asking, or feeling. This practice invites you to spend a whole day without unnecessary apologies and switching 'sorry' for 'thank you'. Reclaim your right to take up space without explanation.
Lezione 8
The Nostalgia Shelf
Gather a small collection of objects, photos or playlists that remind you of times you felt most yourself. These reminders prove those good versions of you still exist, ready to be called on when needed.
Lezione 9
The Five-Year-Old Test
When your inner critic shows up, ask yourself whether you would say the same thing to a five-year-old version of you. If not, it’s time to soften your words and speak with care, patience and kindness.
Lezione 10
Love Yourself In The Mirror
Today you’ll practice standing in front of a mirror and looking at yourself with kindness. This gentle exercise is about seeing your reflection as a whole person and softening the way you speak to yourself.
Lezione 11
The Brave List
Todays task: write down five brave things you have done in your life, no matter how small they may seem. This simple exercise reminds you of the quiet courage you’ve already shown and the strength you still hold.
Lezione 12
Morning Voice Note To Yourself
Each morning, record a short, kind message to yourself. Speak to yourself like you would to your closest friend. Over time, these small pep talks can become a powerful source of encouragement and care.
Lezione 13
Thanks For The Lesson Game
When something frustrating happens, say “Thanks for the lesson” out loud. Even if you don’t mean it yet, this practice can gently shift your relationship with difficult moments and help you feel less stuck.
Lezione 14
Summary And Closing Day
And finally, a gentle wrap-up of the tools you’ve gathered. Remember, you don’t have to master everything. Take what feels good and leave what doesn’t. You are already worthy of kindness, softness and belonging.
