Rachel Zinman, a seasoned yoga practitioner and teacher with over 37 years of experience, embarked on the journey of creating yantras in 2008 as a personal healing process following her diabetes diagnosis. What began as a personal exploration evolved into the facilitation of sacred Yantra workshops at major festivals like Bali Spirit, Berlin Yoga Festival, Barcelona Yoga Festival, and various workshops worldwide. Rachel's workshops, named "Sacred Yantra Creations," guide participants in emotional healing through the transformative process of yantra creation and dissolution.
Rachel's journey into yoga began after a career as a professional dancer and choreographer in the USA and Australia. She initially trained in the Iyengar and Ashtanga methods and introduced yoga to the curriculum while serving as the Head of Dance at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium. Rachel's teaching style, influenced by her deep engagement with the arts, is dynamic, precise, and emphasizes mindfulness.
During her time in New York (2000–2004), Rachel studied with ISHTA yoga founder Alan Finger, eventually becoming a senior facilitator and mentor in his studios. She co-created and coordinated the Be Yoga Teacher Training Program during this period. Returning to Australia, Rachel contributed to the Yoga Arts Teacher Training and established her own teacher trainings and workshops in the ISHTA System across the globe.
Inspired by Bhakti Yoga, Rachel has delved into Gyan (Self Knowledge), incorporating traditional teachings of the Upanishads, Yantra, Mantra, Mudra, and Tantric rituals into her workshops and trainings. Her deep personal experience with meditation makes her intuitive and creative in her work, and she feels grateful to share her passion with others.
Beyond yoga, Rachel co-created and produced a popular Australian Yoga Video series and a Kid's Yoga Video. She is an award-winning musician for her album of chanting and devotional song, "Sita Ram," and has produced two more CDs with her band, the Subway Bhaktis. Additionally, Rachel is a published poet and best selling author for her book "Yoga For Diabetes, How To Manage Your Health with Yoga and Ayurveda". ...
