Quit Drinking & Reclaim Your Life

Cosa imparerai
Quitting drinking isn’t hard because you lack willpower. It’s hard because alcohol became a solution — until it didn’t. At some point, the thing that once helped you relax, belong, or escape… starts costing more than it gives. You may not want to drink anymore — but you also don’t want a life that feels smaller, lonelier, or stripped of pleasure. That’s where this course begins. This is a compassionate, grounded invitation for people who are tired of the loop — the promises, the justifications, the quiet shame, the “tomorrow I’ll do better.” Rather than treating sobriety as deprivation or punishment, this course offers a different lens: sobriety as a doorway back to clarity, self-trust, and freedom. Inside, you’ll learn: Why quitting can feel so destabilizing — and why that doesn’t mean you’re broken How to understand cravings without fighting yourself How identity, nervous system regulation, and choice actually work together How to begin designing a life that doesn’t require numbing to get through it I share my own path out of alcohol addiction — not as a prescription, but as proof that transformation doesn’t begin with perfection. It begins with honesty. This is not about labels. It’s not about hitting rock bottom. And it’s not about forcing yourself into a version of sobriety that doesn’t fit. It’s about finding your way back to yourself — steady, clear, and awake — and learning how to live from that place. If you’re here, something in you already knows: the old way isn’t working anymore. This is where something new can begin.
Pamela is a certified recovery coach and She Recovers coach who believes sobriety should give you more life — not less. After decades of drinking, five years of uninspired sobriety, and a painful relapse, she knew “just not drinking” wasn’t enough. So she rebuilt from the inside out. Today, Pamela is the founder of My Badass Recovery, where...

Welcome To Your Journey Of Recovery
The journey out of the cycle of addiction is not an easy one. Addiction is often misunderstood as a problem of willpower or moral standing, but this could not be further from the truth. Addiction is a condition of the mind, body, and spirit. It's a painful disconnection with one’s heart which begins with the stories we tell ourselves, and our inability to see our truth without shame and compassion. In this module I share my story of addiction to alcohol, and how I released the stories I told myself - stories of shame and self-loathing - and embraced sobriety as an opportunity. Day one marks the beginning of the powerful mindshift we'll experience as we begin to understand addiction and recovery through the lens of transformation, possibility, and freedom. Let's do this.
Lezione 2
Looking At Your Truth, Bravely
They say our truth sets us free. In today’s lesson, we’ll look at what addiction really means and ask the big question: Is addiction your problem? Those of us who suffer from addiction tend to either live in denial or live in shame. Denial keeps us stuck. Shame keeps us in pain and smallness. In this lesson, we’ll drop the shame and denial, and embrace the simplicity of addiction, and how we have the power to reprogram its toxic patterns and write a new story. Let's get radically honest, together.
Lezione 3
Making A Decision To Change Your Life
Today’s lesson is the bridge between addiction and healing through the work of recovery. We’ll revisit the idea that we can release the stigma and old stories and focus on our right to create a new, more empowering narrative for ourselves. So how do we begin? We make a decision. And this isn’t a decision to quit drinking or using (we can’t really make that decision). Instead, we’re making a decision to do the work of recovery. To take action. This part is vital. It’s where you opt in, rather than just going with the flow. It’s where you decide to take ownership of your life, and start re-writing your story. Let’s do this.
Lezione 4
Recovery - Getting Your Power Back
Addiction is powerlessness. Recovery is the solution, where we can reclaim our power. You’ve made the mindshift of releasing your old story and begun writing your new one. In this module, we’ll celebrate that you’ve begun the WORK of recovery. Bit by bit, as you continue this work, you’ll find more moments of power. And soon, those moments will snowball. Let's redefine how your power can be claimed through designing a path of action toward freedom. Keep trusting the process.
Lezione 5
The Three Building Blocks Of Recovery
In this lesson, we’ll dive into the formula for caring for our perfectly imperfect human selves. While there is no one “right” way to recovery, here’s the holistic approach that worked for me to find something bigger than sobriety: true transformation. My formula is simple: Mindshift + A Program + A Toolkit (for body, mind, and spirit) = Recovery In this lesson, we’ll get an overview of this formula - the “building blocks” of recovery - as we prepare to get you started on designing a path of your own. I am proud of you for being here.
Lezione 6
Self-Compassion + Self-Forgiveness
In this lesson, we’ll take a deep breath and pause in the middle of our journey. It’s time to discuss self-compassion and self-forgiveness. These concepts might make you squirm a little, but it’s true: When we make space for self-compassion, we can start to access self-forgiveness and even, eventually, self-love. Easy? No. Necessary? Absolutely. Let’s show ourselves some grace and compassion, in order to keep moving forward with our journey of freedom. Let's pause, together.

Your Journey - Part 1: Mindshifting
Today, and over the next 3 lessons, you will design a path of action for your recovery journey, modeled after the holistic recovery formula: Mindshift, Program, and Toolkit. Today we begin with the first part of this framework: The Mindshift. The path of recovery isn’t about feeling — it’s about action. This action begins with the story you tell yourself. Creating new stories is just as important as the ability to release the old ones (which keep us stuck). Every action begins with thought. Let’s take another step forward. Let’s find freedom from the stories that keep us stuck. Proud of you.
Lezione 8
Your Journey - Part 2: Program
Today we’ll discuss the second element in the holistic recovery formula: Program. Our lesson will introduce the concept of a “program of recovery” under a new light: one where we leave prejudice (old stories) to the side, and embrace this guiding framework as a vital part of your initial journey. We’ll also explore the essential elements of a program (instructions, mentorship, and community), and how they can give you the elements you need to break the cycle you’re stuck in. Let's do this.
Lezione 9
Your Journey - Part 3: Toolkit
Today, our lesson will dive deep into the third and final element in my holistic recovery formula: The Toolkit. The toolkit is a set of new tools, habits, and practices that help support each of the areas of your beautiful self: body, mind, and spirit. We’ll cover how to design your toolkit, what it should include, and how you can slowly integrate the different parts into your life. This is where you get to have fun and truly design a new set of habits, ideas, and transformational practices. Little by little. With lots of patience and love. Let's tap into the power you have to create the life you want.

A Vision For You: Your Beautiful, Badass Recovery
In this final module, we’ll embrace the gratitude we have for our addiction (it IS the door to transforming our lives, after all) and we’ll even bask in a little pride. We will dive into the possibility, and remind ourselves of the beauty of this imperfect (and perfect) adventure. And so your journey begins. First, you recover, my love. Then, you thrive. I am so very proud of you. I know you are, too. I will continue being with you. Pamela

This course helped me a great deal and I recommend it. I have taken other similar courses but I was uneffected by them. The way Pamela presents it and what she says resonates with me. I created my plan as she suggests and have been sober for 5 days. I know that doesn’t sound like much, but that’s the longest I’ve gone without a bottle of wine in...

This was a very motivating course, which helped me make some good decisions for my life. I like that it is one step at a time and things are explained in a way that is not threatening. I ultimately, I decided for myself that I am not an alcoholic but I do need to cut down on drinking in a big way.
