The following meditation was created by Carla Grundison of Intuition Continuum.
Welcome.
This meditation is intended to guide your body into deep relaxation and quiet the busy mind by taking you through a series of visualizations.
Inviting you to get settled into a comfortable spot.
Gently close the eyes.
Breathe naturally.
Noticing the in-breath and out-breath.
Allow your attention to settle on the top of your head.
Noticing any tension you may be aware of in this part of your physical body.
Visualize or sense that tension releasing from your scalp and hair follicles,
Your hairline,
Around your ears,
Your temples,
And your forehead.
Allow the muscles around the eyes to relax.
Softening the mouth and jaw.
Releasing tension in the neck.
Dropping the shoulders.
Notice that sense of relaxation moving down the torso to the base of the spine.
And down both arms from the shoulders all the way to the tips of the fingers.
Follow this relaxation down both legs,
All the way to the tips of your toes.
Allow the body to sink more deeply into the seat beneath you.
Notice the texture of any clothing on your skin.
Tune in to the feeling at your fingertips,
Wherever your hands are placed.
Inviting you to take a deeper breath in.
And then exhale.
Noticing the rise and fall of your chest and belly with each breath.
Noticing your torso,
Your arms and hands,
Legs and feet,
Fully relaxed,
Your whole body sinking deeper into the support of the seat beneath you.
Allow any last bits of tension to dissolve away.
Begin to notice a decrease in separation between your physical body and your clothing.
And the seat beneath you,
And even the air around you.
The essence of you is blurring with your surroundings,
Contributing to a deeper state of relaxation.
Bringing your focus inward to the space between your eyebrows,
Your third eye,
Your mind's eye,
The gateway to your imagination and intuition.
The following is a series of images presented to you in quick succession so your mind's eye can move nimbly from one to the next,
With no time for you to create a story or retrieve a memory related to any one of them.
Some images may be unusual or unexpected.
They are not meant to be similar or connected.
This is intentional to allow for a continuous flow of images within your mind's eye.
Beginning with.
A tree branch waving in strong wind.
A navy blue cardigan sweater with gold buttons.
Fog hanging low across a river valley.
A bluebird perched on a wooden fence.
A fluffy purple towel.
A group of yellow dandelion flowers amongst a field of green grass.
A pair of reflective sunglasses with a gold rim.
Two donkeys standing in a barn doorway.
A green mug with steam rising from the top.
A bunch of bananas,
Not quite rape yet.
A golf club making contact with a golf ball.
Dusty books on a library shelf.
Plush gray carpet under bare feet.
Orange fish swimming in a garden pond.
A deck of cards with the King of Hearts face up on the top.
A light bulb.
A dripping faucet.
A pair of wooly socks laying side by side.
Two cats sleeping,
Snuggled together.
A red felt pen.
Small clouds floating across a bright blue sky.
A dry log laying on the beach.
In your mind's eye,
Feel yourself seated on this log,
Your feet in the warm sand below.
Wiggling your toes in the sand,
Inviting you to draw up a sense of groundedness in this place.
Feel this sense of strength and comfort coming up through the base of your body.
Notice the sense of peace that fills your entire physical body and energy field.
This sense of security,
Strength,
And comfort.
The space provides a calm starting point,
A strong foundation from which to begin the next part of your experience,
Whether that is into restful sleep or a calm,
Refreshed approach to what is next in your day.
Until next time.
Take good care.
