Find a comfortable place where you won't be disturbed,

Either sitting up or lying down.

And close the eyes if you haven't already.

And allow your eyelids to become heavy,

As if weighted down with marble or concrete.

Nice and heavy,

Stuck down,

That's right.

And you can take a nice deep breath now,

Into the belly,

In for the count of four.

And hold it for four.

And out for eight.

That's right.

And again,

In for the count of four.

And holding for four.

And out for eight.

And one last time now.

In for the count of four.

Holding for four.

And out for eight.

And noticing your body resting,

Observing the weight of the head as you begin to relax now,

More and more,

As that relaxation spreads into the face.

Is it tingling or warm?

Is it cool?

Perhaps it's heavy too.

As that relaxation moves down now,

Into the neck and the shoulders.

Down the arms and into the hands,

As you notice the placement of the hands.

And allow those hands to just become heavy too.

That's right.

And moving your attention down the body and into the chest.

And taking a moment now to notice your heartbeat.

That's right.

And with each breath that you take,

Focusing on that heartbeat and seeing if you can,

Slow it down just a little.

Using your focus and your concentration,

Which grows stronger and stronger the more you relax.

Deeper and deeper.

That's right.

And now moving your attention down into the stomach.

Breathing gently into the stomach,

Relaxing the stomach.

And moving your attention down the body and into the tops of the legs.

Relaxing the tops of the legs.

And into the knees and the calves now.

Relaxing the calves.

As you move your attention down into the feet.

And noticing if your feet feel heavy too.

As you sink deeper and deeper.

That's right.

And allowing your attention to slowly drift back up the legs now.

Comfortably and peacefully.

And into the body.

Into the stomach.

Up into the chest.

Into the hands and the arms.

Up into the shoulders and the neck.

Into the face.

And all the way back up to the top of the head.

As you relax even deeper still.

Like a blanket of relaxation resting over you.

That's right.

And as you're feeling so relaxed,

I want you to imagine a picture of a beautiful deep green forest.

It's a wonderful day and the sun is streaming through the canopy of leaves above you.

Inside this forest,

Casting patterns of dappling light.

Dancing on the tree trunks and the bushes around you.

And you can smell the richness of the soil and the natural oils from the trees around you.

And you can hear the sounds of the insects and the animals going about their day.

As you relax even more deeply now and listen to the song of the birds and the breeze through the branches.

And there's a pathway that leads you through this forest,

Past the wildflowers with their sweet subtle aroma and out into a large open field.

And in this field ahead of you is a very old stone building.

And from a distance you can see that the door is closed and you find yourself curious as you look at this building and take in its bygone charms.

Now you can begin walking towards that stone building through the field,

Feeling the sun upon you on this perfect day.

Walking towards that building,

Becoming more enchanted by its millennium of secrets with each step that you take,

Getting closer and closer to this building.

And now you're standing at the door and as you stand at the door you sense that this old building seems familiar to you in a strange way,

As if you've been here before.

And I want you now to notice the door handle,

Perhaps it's made of bronze or wood or something else.

Notice the color and the texture.

It's been touched by the weather over the centuries but it works perfectly so you can safely put your hand on that door handle now and open that door.

And as you step inside you can close that door behind you.

And you find yourself in a comfortable modern auditorium with high ceilings and reclining chairs facing a stage.

This room seems much larger on the inside than it did outside.

The back wall of this stage is lined with an enormous projection screen.

I want you to go and sit yourself comfortably on one of those reclining chairs,

Nice and relaxed,

Reclining as far back as you'd like to be.

That's right,

The lighting is subdued and peaceful,

The temperature is just right here.

And the air is fresh,

You can still sense a hint of the forest and the wildflowers.

You find that you could easily fall asleep here,

In this comfortable place.

But as you settle in,

You notice a remote control on the armrest and you become curious once more.

I want you to pick up that remote control and press the start button.

As you release that button,

You hear the rhythmic sound of whirring as a projector slowly descends from the ceiling and turns itself on.

As you look at that screen in front of you,

A message is displayed,

Storage low,

New data may not record properly,

Delete unwanted programs now.

The colours on that screen are dull and almost monochrome.

You can now press the menu button on your remote control and select programs.

That's right,

And to your surprise,

Pages and pages of titles appear in date order from the most recent,

Right back to the very beginning.

And as you scroll through the titles,

You realise that each of these programs represents a part of your life.

This hard drive holds the story of your life to date.

All of your experiences,

The good ones,

The bad ones,

And all of the others in between.

And you notice that each program has a checkbox next to it,

Giving you the option to tag it as either important or not important,

Or else to leave it blank.

As you keep scrolling through this program list,

You're intrigued by all of the memories that you'd forgotten,

As well as the ones that you've remembered.

Now select a program from a recent happy event,

Even if it was just playing with a dog.

Select a positive memory now.

That's right.

And as you select this program,

The information tab appears up on that screen,

And as you select that information tab,

An image and a short description of the event is displayed.

I want you now to press play on that happy memory,

And as you do,

I want you to notice how this memory on screen differs from the way that you had remembered it.

All of those priceless nuances,

The beautiful things that were said,

The feeling in the air,

That fresh bout of happiness that has now started to fade a little over the past few days or weeks or months.

I want you to notice what you can notice about that original event,

And I'll leave you for a few moments to explore this.

That's right.

And now I want you to take note of the negative memories listed on this hard drive,

The ones that you can do without.

I want you to sort through this program list and select the programs that you can erase in order to make room for the positive memories yet to come.

If you're not sure,

Just press the information tab to double check that this is a memory you can do without.

You might decide to go right back to the beginning,

Or you might decide to tackle only the titles that jump out at you,

And as you scroll through the list and select each title that you want to dispose of,

I want you to check not important on this selection.

Even if the memory was important in teaching you something,

You've already learned that lesson,

So you don't need to keep the memory anymore.

It's only taking up space.

It can now be tagged not important.

Work through this list as broadly or as finely as you like over the next two minutes or so while I remain quiet.

Good.

And now you can press view selection up on that screen,

And each of the programs you've selected will appear in a list.

That's right.

I want you to review this list one last time,

Taking all of the lessons and the learnings from each event so that you never need to repeat it before moving on to the next one.

I want you to do this quickly by simply looking at the title.

I'll leave you for a few moments to do this now.

Good.

And in a moment,

You'll press delete,

And once you press delete,

These not important memories cannot be retrieved,

Leaving you with a feeling of lightness and peace,

A feeling of relief.

And after they've been deleted,

The program titles will appear faded out but will no longer be accessible on the hard drive.

The memories themselves will be gone,

Leaving space for new and more valuable data on your hard drive.

So when you're ready,

Press delete.

That's right.

And as you press delete,

You might notice a warm,

Peaceful feeling fill you up from the top of your head to the tips of your toes,

Perhaps a tingling or a lightness,

Or you might perhaps feel energized as you sense the wonderful possibilities that you've created now with all of this extra space at your fingertips.

As you now scroll through your program list once more,

Notice how content you can feel within yourself in reviewing the programs that you've decided to keep.

That's right.

Spend a few moments noticing the positive memories that you've decided to keep,

Allowing yourself to remember these valuable memories and how they felt,

And marking them as important,

Those ones that really stand out to you.

That's right.

And as you press the home button now,

A notice appears on that screen stating you can now safely add more data.

The colors on this screen are bright and the message is clear,

And this process can now integrate into the system and become an automatic function that you can take into your daily life,

Continuously clearing old and unuseful data to make room for better things.

And when your unconscious mind has integrated this new process so that this new process can take effect and continue to take effect,

You'll find yourself returning gently and optimistically back into the room,

Fresh and clear-minded,

Ready to get on with the rest of your day.
