Hello dear one,
It's good to be with you today.
It's always good to be with you.
You are loving,
Lovable and loved dear one.
And all your beautiful internal family is beautiful,
Loving,
Lovable and loved.
Today I want to take this time to invite you to take one of your younger parts for a walk on the beach.
So let's just take a moment to connect with one of our younger parts.
It might be a part that you've met in a previous meditation.
If that part's got a name,
See if you can make contact now with that part.
Just call it and ask it if it would like to come with you for a walk on the beach.
Just remind this inner child that she or he can hold your hand and that you're going to protect your child.
You're not going to let anyone hurt them and you're going to make sure that you keep them safe.
But you also want to invite them to have fun with you and be able to share and express with you.
Ask them now and see what they say.
If they've said no,
They don't want to go,
It's important that you respect that.
And what you can do is turn this meditation off and just spend some time in your room with this little one.
Maybe they're not ready for an outing yet.
But if the little one is wanting to hold your hand and go,
Thank it.
Take a moment to give that little one a reminder of just how much respect and love and time you've got for this dear little one.
Remind them that it's never too late to have a good childhood.
Just check what they want to take with them to the beach.
Do they want a bucket and spade?
Do they want a fishing net?
Do they want to have a swim outfit or just a paddle?
Just check what feels safe for them and make sure that it's age appropriate for them.
Now bring to mind a beach.
It might be one from your imagination.
It might be a beach that you've been to before.
Taking the things that you've agreed with you,
Maybe a picnic,
Maybe some food.
Maybe bucket and spade or fishing net.
Hold your little one's hand and start to walk along the beach.
Let's start by taking a stroll along the water's edge.
Let your little one move into the water as much as she feels safe to do so.
But just stay by her side reassuring her that you'd catch her if any big waves come.
Notice how it feels to give this little one the attention that they so badly need from you and to protect them.
Maybe you've had an emptiness inside you for the longest time.
Maybe you might be in your 70s,
You might be in your 60s or 50s,
40s.
It's never too late to have a good childhood.
This is the good news.
With internal family systems we can connect with those neglected parts,
Those abused parts.
Maybe this little girl or boy was physically abused as a child.
Maybe they were sexually abused.
Maybe they were emotionally abused or simply neglected.
Whichever type of abuse or combination of abuse happened,
It will have meant these parts won't have had the love and freedom that they desperately need.
And now it's time for you to take on that role.
Just spend a bit of time appreciating how brave they are.
Let them know how proud you are of them trusting you and being willing to try this meditation with you.
Just follow suit as what they want to do.
Maybe they want to splash,
Maybe they want to run along the beach.
That's okay too.
Sometimes it's fantastic just to run.
There's no limits because this place is in our imagination.
I do very much recommend you try this for real as well one day.
Make sure you go on your own.
But you'll be taking your inner child with you.
And you'll be having a delightful morning or afternoon on the beach.
Something you can plan with your part.

And your little one is worth it.
Check in.
How's your little one doing?
Is he getting tired?
Suggest that you can move away from the water and sit down somewhere.
Put down your picnic blanket.
And you can sit down.
You can help your child digging a sandcastle or a big hole.
Check what they'd like to do.
Make sure they're warm enough.
Join in with them and take notice of what they're doing.
Ask which ways you can help them with their project.
Ask them what they want to build.
What are they creating?
There are so many ways to create in the sand.
It's just a child's dream to be able to be free and to create.
You can draw with sticks,
Pictures.
You can sculpt.
You can dig holes,
Moats,
Castles,
Houses.
Collect stones and shells to decorate.
Create art from pebbles.
If there's pebbles on this beach,
If you don't like sand,
You can be on a pebbly beach.
You can let your child have whatever it needs.
And now that your child has come into the end of their creation,
Take some time to say how great that is.
Maybe you can take a photograph of it,
If they'd like that.
Maybe you can have a lie down together.
Look up at the sky.
Notice the blue sky and the white fluffy clouds.
Hold your little girl,
Little boy's hand.
Feel the contentment and joy just in this moment.
Just in the healthiness of connecting.
Thank your inner child for this special time you've had together.
And remind the inner child that you can go to this place any time you need to relax together and bond.
Use this meditation frequently to help you connect and create a sense of safety with your inner child.

It's time to finish now.
Ask your inner child if it wants a hug,
A kiss or anything else before we finish this meditation.
Invite your child to stay with you or to stay in their safe place.
Maybe there's a safe place they stay.
Just check in with them.
See what they need.
Do they want to stay with you?
Or do they want to be put in a safe place?
If they want to be in a safe place,
If you've got a place already,
Invite them into that place.
If you haven't got a place,
Just take a moment to create a safe place.
It can be a cave,
It can be a log cabin,
It can be a place in the forest,
A safe house of your dreams.
Whatever you think will be the best for your child.
I think you're marvellous.
I think you're wonderful.
I think connecting with your inner child is connecting with your birthright.
Everybody has this inside.
It's self-energy.
It's curious,
Creative,
Confident,
Connected,
Calm,
Clear,
Compassionate,
Courageous.
