Good morning.
Before you do anything else,
Just feel where you are right now.
You're still in that soft place between the night and the day.
That sweet luminous space where the body hasn't yet been asked for anything.
Where everything is still light.
Still open.
Still yours.
This morning we're going to stay in that softness.
And deepen into it.
So that we can let the body feel really good before the day begins.
So find a comfortable seat.
On the edge of your bed.
A chair or the floor.
Wherever you feel comfortable is perfect.
Let your spine be long.
And your hands rest softly in your lap.
And gently close your eyes if you haven't already.
Let yourself rest in this moment before you belong to anyone but yourself.
The warmth of your own hands in your lap.
The gentle weight of the body.
And the breath moving all on its own.
Give yourself this moment.
Now take a slow breath in through the nose and let it move all the way down into the belly,
The ribs,
Into every quiet corner of the body.
And then exhale gently through the mouth.
And just feel how good that feels.
Again,
Inhaling like the body's drinking in this morning.
And exhaling,
Everything softening as it goes.
One more inhale,
Slow and sweet.
Feel the body expand to receive it.
And exhale like a long,
Quiet sigh.
Let the breath settle into its own rhythm now.
Let it be deep and unhurried.
Like you have all the time in the world.
Because in this moment,
You do.
Now keeping that softness,
Let's invite in a little bit of movement.
Very gently let the head begin to drop forward.
And feel the sweet weight of it.
The back of the neck beginning to lengthen and open.
And then slowly roll the head to the right.
The right ear drifts towards the right shoulder.
And breathe in to the left side of the neck.
Feel it open,
Soft and slow.
And then slowly roll the head back through center.
And over to the left.
The left ear moves towards the left shoulder.
And breathe into the right side of the neck.
Let it be completely soft.
No effort is required here.
Just release.
And then gently roll back to center.
And allow the head to float back to neutral.
And just notice how that feels.
Maybe you feel a little more awake.
A little more alive.
Now place your hands softly on your knees.
And begin to sway.
Side to side.
So gently,
Like a flower in the lightest breeze.
Find your own rhythm.
You can bring the neck and shoulders into this if that feels good.
You can let the breath move with it.
Inhaling as you sway one way.
Exhaling as you sway the other.
And just stay with that natural gentle sway.
And when you feel ready,
Start to make your way back to stillness.
Very slowly like a pendulum coming to rest.
And just feel what's here for you now.
The body is awake.
Warm,
Open,
And breathing.
And just feel that for a moment.
The warmth moving through the neck and the shoulders.
The breath flowing freely.
The gentle weight of the hands on the knees.
The air on your skin.
Noticing if it feels cool or warm.
Any sounds that you can hear.
Drinking them in.
Notice if there are any smells that you can smell.
Letting all of it in.
Through all these different senses.
This is what it feels like to be alive.
Really alive and present.
Not just rushing through your life or managing it.
But really feeling it.
Let yourself enjoy this.
There's nothing indulgent about feeling good in your body.
This is medicine.
For you.
For your day.
For everyone you love.
Take a breath in,
Slow and sweet.
And then let it go.
And just notice how your body feels right now.
And carry this softness with you today.
The way the body feels right now.
Open,
Warm,
And present.
This is always available to you.
One breath.
One moment of feeling.
And you're back.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Have a beautiful day.
