Hi dear ones,
Before we get into today's meditation,
Quick reminder,
You may hear some of the noises of this community I'm living in here in Puerto Rico as I record this.
On that note,
If you would like to have some background music of your own for this guided meditation,
Feel free to get that going.
This is inspired by my dear teacher Camille Maureen and also inspired by the upcoming meditation teacher training that I will be supporting for the next cohort for the Radiant Sutra School of Meditation and also been asked to to offer some meditation circles within my work at Mindbloom and so I just yeah I felt inspired to invite you all,
This community here,
Into this space with me as well,
The meditation space,
The guided meditation space.
So with that said,
Welcome,
Welcome to a little practice.
This is called the Breath of Compassion meditation and again this is inspired by my dear teacher Camille Maureen.
I'll be using some words from her script,
Breath of Compassion.
So let's make this intentional transition into a meditation practice time space exploration.
So as a reminder,
We take a few minutes to intentionally transition from whatever we had going on into this time,
This space.
So I think first attending to the body.
Does your body want to be moving?
Is the body ready to sit or lie down?
So let's check in with the body for a few seconds here.
Notice if your eyes desire to stay open,
If the eyes naturally close down and just being really natural with with yourself in that way,
No force.
Eyes can open if they desire,
Eyes can stay closed if they desire.
It's not a meditation requirement for eyes to be closed.
This space,
This meditation space,
Is a space where you can can be natural with yourself or we put no demands.
A time for you,
A time to feel,
Time to embrace the let go,
To invite some restoration and relaxation.
So let's notice,
Become enticed by this movement of air,
Of breath.
This air moving in and out of the nose,
What we call inhalation and exhalation.
Let's feel this movement of life that we call breathing.
Notice the texture of your breath,
Feel the tenderness brushing through your nose and throat.
How soft,
How light,
Soft and light can the breath be?
As gentle,
Light,
Easy breath,
Delicate,
Thread-like.
You may notice how the breath can flow easily without any will or effort.
You might notice now natural rhythm,
A natural rhythm of your own breathing pattern,
An invitation to to feel the effortlessness,
Easy flowing effortless breath.
This breath,
A dance between you and the world.
This air around you is welcomed into your body,
Nourishes your body,
Then flows back out to the world.
Let's savor this dance between you and the world.
For the next few minutes,
We'll simply invite enjoyment.
Continue to enjoy the breath in your own natural way.
Trust there is nothing to make happen.
No need to change yourself or the breath's rhythm in any way.
More of an allowing,
Allowing yourself to simply be with the tender touch.
The tender accepting touch of the breath.
How do you know you are breathing right now?
What physical sensations do you feel?
Is it possible to be in the simple appreciation,
Appreciation of this pulsation,
This ceaseless throb,
This rhythm of life that is always happening?
Moments of appreciation now.
Intentionally surrender to tenderness.
Surrender to receiving the inhalation.
Surrender to the gentle flow of your exhalation.
Allow the tender touch of this flow to dissolve any judgment and pain.
Let that soft,
Tender touch heal any place where you have been hard on yourself or any place that is calling for loving attention.
Surrender to the tenderness.
Know the forever movement of breath as the spirit of acceptance within you.
Receive the blessing.
Breathe now with compassion for yourself,
With yourself,
For yourself.
Let's take a few intentional,
Intentional breaths together where now we purposely manipulate,
Lovingly manipulate the length of our inhale and exhale.
As you do this,
Let's also recognize the feeling in your body,
Your mind,
Your spirit.
Allowing for the recognition of the felt sense of any blessings of this breath of compassion,
Meditation,
This time and space you've gifted yourself today.
You may like to take a few moments and remember the experience you just had.
Sensations,
Thoughts,
Emotions,
Fullness,
Spaciousness.
What was it like for you today?
Know that you can reconnect with this mode,
This way of breathing and being whenever you want or need to.
It doesn't take any longer than a few seconds to touch back and remember this.
Let's take a few seconds to imagine ourselves,
Yourself moving through your day,
Finding moments to pause and savor the pulsation of breath.
Just as we made an intentional transition into the practice,
We make an intentional transition out of the practice,
Acknowledging we're moving from the space of inner inquiry back to a recognition of the outer environment,
The space that we're in,
The felt sense of the whole body.
If you've been more still,
Beginning to move.
If you've been moving,
You might change the way in which you've been moving.
Shifting your eye gaze to a new spot.
If the eyes were open,
If the eyes have been closed,
We open the eyes.
Being spacious in this transition,
A great time to journal,
To have a sip of water,
To stare out a window,
To be luxurious with ourselves and what we invite into our awareness.
The next steps we take,
If there's a feeling of being a little bit more home inside of ourselves,
Spacious,
Centered,
And there was a desire to bring some of that into the next parts of the day,
How do you choose to move?
What do you choose to do next?
A recognition,
How you showed up for yourself today.
Gratitude for yourself.
I offer the time we give gratitude for these words.
Some of the words from my teacher,
Camille Maureen from the School of Instinctive Meditation.
Gratitude for this time together and this technology that allows me to be in this practice with you all.
Thank you for being here.
You are appreciated and loved.
Continue with your transition and wishing you and all sentient life,
Peace and love and grace and joy.
