The sound of a heartbeat is one of the most comforting and nostalgic sounds we are familiar with and the origins of that comfort bring us right back to the beginning; our mother's womb. As our hearing first developed the muffled sound of our mother's heartbeat was the first sound we heard and came to be associated with the warmth, safety, and security of our time in the womb.
