Theta is where our subconscious state of mind lives and influences around 90% of our daily habits and actions. We shift into Theta right before we fall asleep. In this meditation, using visualisation+affirmations, you will be guided into a state of new found connection as you drift peacefully off to sleep. Hi my name is Simon and welcome to Happy Mind Meditations.
Today's meditation focuses on loneliness and feelings of depression.
Although we live in a world which is more connected now than ever through our social media,
A large number of recent studies have shown that people are feeling more lonely and disconnected than ever before.
So just know if you're feeling alone,
You are not alone.
And also know that while feelings of loneliness are uncomfortable,
It's simply a signal reminding us to prioritize meaningful connection with the world around us again.
This meditation was created to help you find a more positive mindset so you can open yourself up again to the possibilities for connection that already exists all around you,
Always.
We're going to rebuild your social connection muscles which is the antidote to loneliness.
I will gently guide you to the awareness within you to help reveal who are the people that you want to surround yourself with.
This insight along with a newfound openness will make you unstoppable in your quest to find connection again.
Before you drift off to sleep,
We're going to tap into your subconscious mind and imagine a life where you're surrounded by people who love,
Support and uplift you.
When we harness the power of our subconscious mind,
We can automatically see new patterns and awarenesses start to unfold in our waking hours.
So let's begin by preparing your mind and body for sleep and relaxation.
Begin by taking a deep breath in and a gentle exhale.
Take another gentle breath through your belly and on the exhale,
Let go of all of the stress and the worries of your day.
Deep,
Slow breath and on the exhale,
We're letting go of all of the stress,
All of the tension of the day.
Take and just become aware of where you might be still in your body,
That space.
And on the exhale,
Let all of that go.
Now we're going to start relaxing every muscle in your body,
Starting with the top of your head,
Relaxing the top of your head completely,
All of the muscles around your forehead,
Around your ears,
Moving down to your throat.
Relax every muscle inside of your throat.
Relax your shoulders,
Let them sink into the bed below.
Relax your chest,
Release every tension that you might be holding in your chest.
Relax your back muscles,
Let them sink into the bed below.
Now take a deep breath into your stomach and gentle exhale,
Releasing all tension in your stomach,
Your thighs,
Your chest,
The muscles around your knees and let that relaxation make its way down to your calves and into your feet,
Relaxing all of your toes.
Your legs feel heavy as you sink deeper into the bed.
You feel so comfortable and relaxed.
Let's take one more deep breath into your body and exhale.
Now I want you first to bring to mind a safe space.
It can be anywhere that you like,
Somewhere you feel safe and calm.
Yourself out in nature,
Beach,
On a mountain.
Imagine yourself relaxed,
Sitting in this safe space.
I want you to bring to mind one person who you have a deep connection with.
It could be a family member,
A great friend or teacher,
Anyone that you respect and care for.
I want you to place your hands over your heart,
Take a deep breath in through your heart,
Exhale.
Imagine a beam of light connecting your heart to the heart of the person in front of you.
As you continue to inhale and exhale through your heart,
Just imagine this beam of light continuing to flow between you and the person in front of you.
Just feel your heart expand and expand as the light gets brighter and brighter.
I want you to imagine now there is another person that joins and sits down next to you.
This can be someone that you already know in your life or it can even be a new person.
These people are here for you.
They love and support you,
Listen and they want only the best for you.
So as the next person joins,
Just imagine the light within your heart expanding,
Connecting with them.
Just notice that heart connection and continue to breathe in through the heart and out.
Now I want you to imagine another person in your life that you care about and sitting down next to you and feel your heart expand and expand as you connect the beam of light to the hearts of the people sitting next to you.
Continue deeply through the heart and gently exhale,
Feeling the light expand on the outbreath,
Expand your heart even more,
Allowing it to all of your hearts together as you continue to breathe.
Now a fourth person comes to join you and suddenly you realize you are surrounded by so many loving people connected through the heart.
Just feel the joy and the relief.
You are surrounded by so much love and support.
I want you to imagine how is this version of you feeling?
How is this version of you acting and being safe,
Connected,
Loved?
Just sink into the feeling of being connected and surrounded by people who care deeply for you and now we let it go.
If you fall asleep during these affirmations it's okay,
Trust that your subconscious mind will just continue to receive the direction without you needing to focus.
I am worthy of having close relationships.
It is easy to meet new people,
It's easy to start a new conversation,
Of creating new friendships,
Prioritize connection with others.
I accept all feelings of loneliness and now let go.

This is one of the best meditations Iโve used. For me, though, the abrupt ending of the meditation was a bit of a shock and I was immediately wide awake. Regardless, I still enjoyed the meditation. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
