Welcome to this guided meditation.
For releasing past resentments and negative attachments.
May you find a quiet and comfortable place where you can sit or lie down.
And when you're ready,
Gently close your eyes.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
Feel the air as it enters through your nostrils,
Fills your lungs,
And then softly leaves your body.
There is no need to change anything about the way you are breathing.
Simply observe.
As you continue to breathe.
Allow your awareness to move to the crown of your head.
Imagine a gentle warmth beginning to spread from the top of your head down through your forehead and into your eyes.
Feel the muscles around your eyes relax.
Allow this warmth and relaxation to flow down into your cheeks and jaw,
Releasing any tension you may be holding there.
Bring your attention to your neck and shoulders.
With every exhale,
Imagine releasing any burdens you may be carrying,
Letting them fall away.
Feel the warmth continue to spread down your arms.
All the way to the tips of your fingers,
Leaving a trail of relaxation and peace.
Notice your chest.
And your abdomen.
Can you feel them rising and falling with each breath?
See if you can allow them to soften and relax a little more with each breath out.
Continue to breathe deeply and evenly.
Filling your lungs and then releasing the air completely.
Bring your awareness to your back.
Feel the support beneath you.
As you allow any tension in your upper back.
Middle back.
And lower back to dissolve.
Allow the warmth and relaxation to spread to your hips and pelvis,
Feeling them release and relax.
Feel the relaxation continue to flow down through your thighs,
Your knees,
And your calves.
All the way down to your feet.
Imagine any remaining tension flowing out through the soles of your feet.
Leaving you completely relaxed and at peace.
As you bask in this state of relaxation,
Know that you are in a safe and protected space.
You have created this time and this space to nurture yourself.
To let go of the past.
And to move forward with lightness and freedom.
Now gently bring to mind.
.
.
A situation,
Event,
Or person that has been a source of distress or discomfort in your life.
Allow yourself to recall the details.
But do so with a sense of detachment.
Observing your memories as if they were clouds passing in the sky.
Notice the emotions that arise as you hold this situation in your awareness.
Where do these emotions reside in your body?
Do you feel a tightness in your chest,
A knot in your stomach,
Or tension in your shoulders?
Acknowledge these physical sensations without judgment.
Understanding that they are manifestations of your emotional state.
As you continue to breathe deeply.
Visualize your breath as a soothing balm flowing to these areas of tension and gently dissolving the knots and tightness.
With each inhale,
Draw in peace and clarity.
With each exhale,
Release the hold of past hurts.
Now,
Turn your attention to the emotions themselves.
Acknowledge the pain,
The anger,
The frustration,
Or any other emotions that are present.
Understand that these emotions are a natural response to your experiences.
But also recognize that holding on to them no longer serves your well-being.
It is time to let them go.
Visualize these emotions as dark,
Heavy clouds within you.
With every breath in.
Imagine drawing in a warm golden light.
With every breath out.
See this light transforming the dark clouds,
Lightening them and dissipating them.
Until they are completely gone.
Feel the weight lifting off your shoulders.
A gentle sense of spaciousness taking its place.
Speak to yourself with kindness and compassion,
Saying internally,
I acknowledge these feelings,
But I choose to release them.
I let go of the past resentments and negative attachments.
I free myself from their weight and welcome in peace and serenity.
Sit with this new sense of lightness for a few moments.
Breathe into the space that has been created within you.
Allowing it to expand with each breath.
Notice the shift in your energy and the sense of liberation that comes with letting go.
Feel a warm glow of gratitude for having the strength and courage to face these emotions and to release them.
As this meditation draws to an end.
Take a few deep breaths.
Grounding yourself in this moment.
Feel the support of the ground beneath you,
Knowing that you are held.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Notice if it has changed in any way since the beginning of this meditation.
When you are ready,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Bringing movement back into your body.
Slowly open your eyes.
Coming back to the present moment.
