This breathing experience is about presence.
One of the most powerful aspects of the breath is that it has the ability to bring you back to the present moment at any time that you focus on it.
And the present moment is the only thing that exists,
The only space that you have potential and opportunity to command your energy.
We'll do three things to lead you into this present moment breathing.
The first thing will be five clearing breaths,
Which will symbolize releasing the past.
A clearing breath is when you breathe in deep through your nose into your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest,
Fill up as much as you can,
Breathe as deep as you can.
And on the exhale,
Just exhale out of your mouth as hard as you can.
And then on the inhale,
Just exhale out of your mouth and this exhale symbolizes your choice to release the past.
So after five clearing breaths,
We'll do five surrender breaths.
And the surrender breath,
The inhale is the same,
In through your nose,
Into your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest,
As deep as you can.
Except this time on the exhale,
I want you to release all control of the exhale,
Allow it to be passive.
Just open your mouth and allow the pressure of your lungs to command the exhale.
This is about releasing control.
Can you surrender the exhale?
Can you release all control?
And notice what that feels like.
Five clearing breaths,
Five surrender breaths.
And then I'm going to guide you to let your body just breathe for you,
To be breathed.
Five clearing breaths where you breathe in deep through your nose,
And then exhale as heavy as you can out your mouth,
Followed by five surrender breaths where you breathe in deep through your nose and surrender all control of the exhale.
Here we go.
Breathing in,
Heavy exhale.
The past is over.
Breathe in deep.
Forceful exhale.
I release the past.
Breathe in deep,
Belly,
Ribs,
And chest.
Exhale.
I am free of the past.
Breathe in deeper.
Exhale heavier.
I release.
Last one.
Breathe in deep.
And clear the exhale.
I am free of the past.
And now breathe in deep.
And surrender the exhale.
Surrender to this moment.
Breathe in.
And let go.
I am here now.
Breathe in.
Release control.
I release control.
I release control.
Breathe in.
Surrender.
I surrender to this present moment.
And now be breathed.
Become the witness to your body.
Breathing on its own.
Now.
And just watch.
Become the witness to your body.
Breathing on its own.
Right now.
Your body always breathing for you.
Just witness it.
Just breathe.
Just feel.
And as you witness your body breathing on its own,
Can you use it?
Use your imagination.
And imagine that that breath is coming directly through the center of your chest.
And as you exhale,
Can you imagine energy and emotion do you wanna call into your life in this moment?
Give it.
So as your body breathes on its own,
Imagine that color coming through the center of your chest.
And whatever it's time to let go of.
Turn your palms so they're face up.
Still witnessing the breath.
Still feeling your chest.
The sensations in the palms.
Still witnessing the breath.
The sensations on the bottoms of your feet.
So be here.
You can witness your breath.
You can witness your body.
You can witness your thoughts and your emotional state.
And from the witness.
Now.
So now breathe in a rhythm.
Whatever pace you wish.
Feel your chest,
Hands,
Feet.
Feel your entire body now.
We'll always bring us back to right now.
And if the present moment is all that exists,
The only parts of the past that are here right now are the ones that we drag along.
To be here now,
You have to release the past.
So which one do you choose?
Who do you wanna be?
See yourself as that right here,
Right now.
And now take a deep breath in.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest as deep as you can.
And surrender the exhale.
Deep breath in.
What you give to the world with your presence.
