Bedtime Story: The Golden Key

This story is excerpted from Scottish writer George MacDonald, considered to be the founding father of modern fantasy. He influenced authors including C.S. Lewis, J.R. Tolkein, and Madeleine L'Engle. With beautiful detailed imagery, we follow the story of a boy and a girl in search of the golden key at the end of the rainbow.

MacDonald once said that he doesn't write for children, "but for the child-like, whether they be five, or fifty, or seventy-five."
