My "No Buy" July Experience

We live in a world where almost anything can be purchased easily with a few online clicks. In this podcast, I will share what I learned from a "No Buy" Challenge. I will also share with you the Money Archangels, I call upon for assistance with Financial Freedom!

Hi friends!

Welcome back.

Today I want to talk to you about the hot topic of money.

Money in my life has befriended me,

Abandoned me,

Hurt me,

Surprised me,

And all the stuff in between.

So recently my cousin had messaged me and challenged me to a no buy July.

Meaning we wouldn't buy anything in the month of July that wasn't necessity.

Basically food.

And I thought it was going to be an easy challenge because I wouldn't consider myself a spender.

I have been working on paying off debt,

Being more conscious about money and my credit score and just doing all the adult good human things.

So as I get into July and I'm now consciously not spending money on things I realize how many opportunities come up to spend money and buy things that I'm not even aware of.

So there were so many instances where I was like,

Ooh I like that album.

Let me go to iTunes and check it out.

And sure enough I go to iTunes and my thought process was,

Well it's only $8.

99,

Only $9.

99 and then when I go to click buy I'm remembering,

Wait a minute,

I'm not buying anything for July.

And as I'm having these experiences throughout the month and I was like,

Ooh let me go check this out on Amazon and see what they have.

And then I realized it is so easy to spend money even on things like,

Ooh let's go out and get some ice cream or oh let's go get some dinners.

And as I'm consciously aware of my spending habits it just made me realize how easy and accessible things are.

And obviously it got me thinking further,

Well no wonder why so many people are depressed or sad or overwhelmed or in debt because it's so easy to just grab and go.

So today I want to talk to you about money and my relationship with money over the years.

So when I was in my 20s and I am just about at the end of my 30s,

So when I was in my 20s I definitely fell into that trap of these credit card companies just giving me credit cards and I was in college at the time and I would put my college books on there and I fell into the trap of shopping and spending money on things that I clearly couldn't afford and the debt just racked up.

And I remember at some point looking at this debt and looking at the high interest rates and realizing that I was at this point without even spending money not getting out of debt.

And I'll tell you there was a lot of fear around that.

Now I have to say I didn't have good role models growing up.

I didn't have anybody to teach me about how to save money and how to invest and how to take care of my money.

So I was abusing the energy of money and not even realizing it.

I was again I had fallen into that consumerism trap but not even realizing it.

Just really kind of just being absorbed with the external world.

So I went through the debt consolidation and in my 30s I've been just kind of what can I how do I say I've been in that place of learning about money learning how to appreciate it and respect it learning what to do with it when I have it learning to save learning to use credit cards and healthy ways and you know work with the zero interest.

And it's kind of been a game over the last few years for me and I've gotten my credit score up in a great space.

And you know this no no by July has kind of triggered like all that stuff for me and helping me become aware of how far I've come but also to how how much the old ways of thinking is still ingrained in me.

So you know maybe this is a challenge you want to pick up for.

So you know we're recording at the end of July.

Maybe you want to challenge yourself and do a no by August and just see what comes up with you for you.

And again my cousin who's doing the challenge with me she came up with the idea of anything that she gets that impulse to buy.

She's been writing down on a list and then what she's going to do in August is she's going to go back and she's going to look at that list and she's going to decide if it's something that she even wants.

So I thought that was even an even better idea you know with this challenge because then she can go back and she can look at all the you know those instances where where she was like well I want to buy this for the kids or I want to buy this and and then she can look back and ask herself like is this really needed.

Is this really necessary.

And I think this is an important topic because I think it's so many.

So it's such a huge topic that nobody really talks about.

There's a lot of shame around it.

There's a lot of hiding around it.

There's a lot of energy that goes into it.

So I want to share with you some of the archangels that can assist with money.

So Archangel Raphael he is great with helping us with healing with money and healing.

And so what I would do was I would ask Archangel Raphael to assist me in making better choices with money.

I would ask him to help me with the healing process.

Send me the right people places things and ideas that can assist me in knowing what to do with money and be able to befriend it.

You know getting off subject a little bit or going in another direction.

I took a class years ago with it was like a money class.

And one of the things that she proposed was befriending money and treating money like a friend.

And in one of the classes we had to kind of do this exercise where we had to kind of talk to an empty chair like it was money sitting in front of us.

And what she made us realize is that so many of us have these like negative thoughts to money like you're never there for me.

You always disappoint me.

There's so much fear around it.

You know and she basically said that if you're putting that type of energy towards a friend like let's say a live human being and you're telling this person you're never there for me.

I hate you.

You're the root of all evil.

You know you destroy families and all the stuff she said what do you think this person's going to do.

Well it was obvious that that person would walk away.

So it kind of made me realize that I didn't really have a good relationship with the energy of money.

So if you can shift your thinking in this maybe challenge of no buy August if you can shift your thinking and thinking of money as a friend.

I mean after the class I went so far as strapping money in my seat belt in my passenger seat in my car.

I pretended that money was driving with me and then I was taking care of it.

I made sure that the money in my wallet now at the time like I wasn't even carrying cash with me.

So talk about the energy of never having money like I didn't even have cash in my wallet.

It was always like the debit card.

And so I just started carrying like dollar bills.

So when I opened up my wallet I knew that there was money in there I could see that I had money and just that energy alone helps.

So I'm always conscious of how I place my money and how I take care of it.

When I'm out having fun if I'm doing something that I'm enjoying I kind of mentally in my mind thank money like money.

This is such a great time.

Thank you for this or money keep coming to me easily and effortlessly.

And I'm not talking about like money in a greed way but I'm talking about money and an appreciation to be able to support you so that you can live your best life because in order for you to feel safe and secure you know you know that you'll you need to have money supporting you.

So being able to shift it and seeing it as a friend and being able to use it as a support system to show up for you is so super powerful.

So Raphael can help with the healing process.

I remember I think I may have told you this story in my Archangel Raphael podcast but if I haven't if I did or you hadn't haven't heard yet I'm gonna I'm gonna say it again.

But I remember a while back this is going back years when I was going through like debt consolidation there was one credit card that I had put all my college books on anything that I needed for school any trainings I was taking I had put on this credit card and it was one of the credit cards that I couldn't like settle with.

So it ended up going to an attorney and I end up paying like every month for a few years seventy five dollars to pay off this debt.

And I remember messaging them when I had submitted a payment and asked them to if they could message me a printout of what I owed what I owed on the account.

And when they sent me the printout it was still like a couple thousand dollars maybe it was like twenty three hundred.

And I remember feeling so defeated like gosh I keep paying this seventy five dollars and it just doesn't go away.

And in that instant I had called upon the Archangel Raphael and I said Raphael I understand my mistakes with money I am working towards making better decisions with money.

And I said is there anything we can do to speed up this process.

And I made the commitment and that if I got twenty three hundred dollars that I would make the commitment and I would promise to take that money and put it on this debt so that I could eliminate it.

And I also told him that with my whole heart that I understood my wrongdoings that I had learned from my mistakes and again I promised to do better going forward.

And I really released it and at that point I resigned to the fact that if I had to keep paying the seventy five dollars I would.

If the money came in I would pay it off and then I always say after the end of asking something or something even better.

So a few I don't know weeks went by or months went by I don't really remember I had just finished teaching an integrated energy therapy advanced class.

And in that advanced class it's all about manifesting and doing a vision board and that class I only had one student it was a private class because the student was was going away she was I think she was moving to another state.

And so I did the work with her and I did the projects with her and I remember one of the things that I had asked is financial freedom and clearing up the debt that I had.

And so I released it we did the energy into it.

I finished up the class and at the time I wasn't I was I was living separately from my mother and I was checking in with her at that time and I called her to see how things were going.

She was taking care of my dog and I had asked her how things were going and she said to me she said well you got some mail today.

And she said you know don't get mad at me I was like oh oh and now so my mother and I have the exact same name.

And so she had the bad habit of opening my mail.

So I guess she saw this letter come from the attorney's office and I guess she got nervous she opened it to see thinking I wasn't paying or whatever.

And what she found inside this envelope was a check from this attorney's office in the amount of seventy five dollars.

And on the bottom of the check in the memo it said this account this account is now closed.

And she goes I can't even believe it and I literally fell to my knees and I thanked Archangel Raphael.

So the beautiful thing was I didn't have to pay any more money and my something even better was that they sent me my check back.

Now I don't know if the law changed.

I don't know if there was a statue of limitations.

I don't know if I helped somebody that worked there and they cleared out the debt.

I have no idea what happened.

And the first thing my mom said she goes you should call on this.

And I was like no way.

I'm like hey this is a gift from the angels.

I have this stub here that says this account is now closed.

I still have that stub to this day to remind me of the miracle that I received from Archangel Raphael.

So he's not only the angel of healing he's also the angel of miracles.

And again I remember dropping down my knees and just being so grateful.

And from that point on I have always tried my best to appreciate money take care of money learn about it and really honor it in sacred space and it really has supported me since.

So if you're in this space you know call on the Archangel Raphael to ask for assistance.

You know I with my whole heart left myself open to you know however however the process was going to unfold.

And so that whole experience you know really kind of opened up the the idea that that nothing is impossible.

And it showed me like the power of the angels and the power that Archangel Raphael had to heal and his miracles.

And so I encourage you strongly to call on the Archangel Raphael to help you with the healing process when it comes to money.

Now another archangel that I am blessed to know is the Archangel Shamuel.

And Archangel Shamuel is really great about going back in your past and releasing the conditioning or ties or binds that you may have had to money.

So maybe you had a negative experience with family.

You know maybe you had family that fought over an inheritance maybe family broke up because of money.

Maybe you lost a home or maybe you lost a car or maybe you know you were in this space and like money has never been something that you've appreciated.

Ask Archangel Shamuel because he's the angel of peace.

Ask Archangel Shamuel to go back and heal the past so that you can be free right now here in the present and then in the future to make better decisions going forward with money.

And then also too money is energy and how we how we receive money and how we earn money is powerful.

So I am blessed to be able to make money and make a living with something that I know is a true calling for me which is my passion and my excitement.

So Archangel Ariel is the angel of soul mission.

She's the angel that helps us with life purpose.

And so she can also help you with the steps to have a better quality of life doing the things you enjoy and making a living at it.

So if you're doing something right now and your your your income is limited and you're not really happy at the job that you're at and you're not really sure what you want to do now,

I am not advertising to just quit your job.

So I certainly didn't do that.

Maybe I'll do a podcast one day about how how I left my paralegal job and how I started my business in the process because it has been a slow steady process,

But obviously,

You know,

Slow and steady wins the race and now here I am 11 years later doing beautiful things.

So it is a process but I called on Archangel Ariel often when I was in that job asking her to help me so many people ask me Gladys like how did you know this is something that you wanted to do and I kind of give a crummy answer like I did it and I kind of just fell into it but I have no doubt it's it's it's not from it.

I have no doubt it's because of the help that I've received from these angels and like I said Archangel Ariel is a beautiful angel that can open doors for you.

She can shine a light on a path for you.

Maybe it's a class you want to take.

Maybe it's a retreat.

Maybe it's a training.

Maybe it's something that you're drawn to,

You know,

For example,

If you're a creative person in places like AC Moore and Michaels and Joanna fabric,

They have so many different kinds of classes and that's really how it started for me.

I was curious about the angels.

I was curious about the afterlife and I just took classes.

I asked the angels to send me the right teachers that I could benefit from and that's how it started for me.

And so once I got let go from that law firm,

I opened my practice because I had had these trainings and I had had a passion for what I was doing and I'm in like I said one thing led to another and now here I am so when it comes to money and working in that space of enjoying and appreciating how income comes into you Archangel Ariel can be incredible with assisting so Archangel Ariel if you remember from my previous podcast with her Archangel Ariel sends bunnies that is how I usually see and know she's around.

She's also the angel of courage and bravery.

She'll give you strength to make really great to stitch decisions.

You know,

Maybe you have to kind of take a risk.

Maybe you have to kind of invest in something and she can assist with you knowing 100% that this is what you're supposed to do.

So call on her and again if you start to see those bunnies around,

You know,

That's a sign that Archangel Ariel is with you.

She also sends mermaids.

Obviously I get that from the Disney movie Ariel and the little mermaid Ariel from the little mermaid and she's she's really great with showing up with little girls who are looking for things that they enjoy passion excitement.

And so so again call on her and she will show up in those ways Archangel Shamuel.

He will show up by what I get so often is the morning doves the morning doves cooing outside.

It seems to be lately wherever I've been.

I've heard the morning doves cooing at me just the other day.

I was outside with my dog taking him out and on top of my rooftop.

I saw these beautiful morning doves just kind of looking at me and I was just kind of talking to them saying sing to me.

Let me hear you and they did it.

They just kind of flew away.

But again,

I knew that Shamuel was in that place of bringing me peace and then of course Archangel Raphael.

He sends like anything,

You know,

I think because he's emerald green I think of the Wizard of Oz and the Emerald City.

So I think of anything emerald or the Wizard of Oz Dorothy's red slippers.

He also reminds me of this jolly giant of a joyful energy which I associate with Santa Claus.

So if you know Santa Clauses are coming into your life,

Especially as we're here in July if Santa Clauses are showing up or you're seeing the words Ho Ho Ho or Christmas trees out and about it's always a sign that the Archangel Raphael is present and I think this is a beautiful thing.

So as you're asking for assistance and the signs are showing up,

I think it's great validation that you're doing good work.

So again,

If money is a thing for you and if this is something that you want to work towards these are some really great tips to assist you.

And again,

I cannot say enough how in awe I am about that miracle and that that check being paid off.

It was so powerful and really expanded my faith and trust in God and the angels and I can't express how powerful that energy is.
